look at it realisitcally, not hypothetically or optimistically. no one's coming close to cavs and warriors for awhile. the two teams that were this season, rockets and spurs, even at 100% proved they aint close. both teams gott along way to go. most teams dont build to contend they build to sell tickets. most teams and players know how hard it is to catch up to those 2 so they just take the most money they can get, esp in this new cba. to even come close you need a tleast 2 star players with a bunch of role players an da good coach. getting one star is hard, two is nearly impossible. lma was supposed to be that guy. and if u get one, u have to gut your team so now its just your two stars and a 2 or 3 role players. realistically the best way to win a 'ship is to trade harden for the bes toffer, maybe wait till the deadline if u have to. don thave to rebuild. after harden's huge career and historic year minus one single game, his value is sky high. we can get some really good players for him. they can sell tickets and compete at the same time. then it wouldnt be so bad to keep ryan cuz in 4 years he'll be a huge expiring, and we'll have at least one star player, a few good role players and a ton of cap.
When you have a shot with a star to go for a champ, keep the star Look at the San Antonio they never give up and the are always in the mix The Lakers two times build a champion team around Kobe Off course with Lebron and Golden state it is not easy, but how knows: injurys, bad team chemical can happen Houston must be ready we will keep the core and add some nice players, we will be stronger next year
spurs have popovich. thats like having another star. with pop and a star player you'll always have a chance. with harden, you have to pray he snaps out of his 6 year long playoffs chokejobs and rockets can get a 2nd star w/o gutting the team. harden is no kobe, lebron, or mj or even durant. he put up good numbers in the po's but on borderline efficiency. and its always been like that in the po's for him.
That's a loser mentality tbh, Rockets needs a power forward that can ball and they should figure out a way to beat GS or SA.
Lies. . . . . going 20-62 for the next few seasons would have people b****ing and moaning for the good ole harden days NO ONE WANTS TO GO THROUGH A 60+ LOSS SEASON Rocket River
Locking him up til 2024 means we can focus on everything else Hell by 2024 the Cap might be 200 million Rocket River
Its only the first year with the new squad and we made it to the 2nd round of playoffs lol...you need to calm tf down
Not if, at the end of those seasons, we had a foundation which we could envision becoming a contender.
aint no loser mentality tis realizing how weak this era is when compared to previous ones after lebron curry and kd, the gap is huge.
A foundation that you can envision winning a championship in the future. It's generally a combination of youth, complementary skillsets, and physical advantages. For instance, assuming they can get healthy, I think Milwaukee with Giannis/Parker/Middleton/Brogdon has a great foundation. Same goes for Minnesota with KAT/Wiggins/LaVine.
We only need to land that second star to pair up with harden... somone who can be a leader in the locker room/huddle. Harden will be the be the leader on the court.. kaaaaabaamm P.george? Kyle Lowry? Hayward?
Bucks 42 and 40 Timberwolves 31 and 51 Rockets are currently 55 and 27 When can we expect these teams to have a 55 win season? next season? 2 seasons from now? 3? What STUD STAR do you see in College or High School that will be better than Harden . . . or on par with KAT and GIANNIS? Who would fit the bill in the NBA for a Trade of this caliber? Rocket River
Why does that matter? The objective isn't to win 55 games in a season. It's to win a championship, and in my opinion, the Bucks/Timberwolves are better poised to do that than we are. They have obvious untapped potential, and their prime should coincide with Lebron's decline. On the other hand, we're in win-now mode and currently have a very clear ceiling which is well short of being a contender. I don't follow college or high school basketball.
Fair enough, but what if one of those players gets injured in the playoffs and oprrunity presents its self.
