Jesus Christ, you put this trade together, looked at Harden compared to the others on the list and still thought it was good enough to post? Smh some of you guys really aren't watching enough basketball and you post **** like this and embarrass yourselves. You centered this trade around Russell, let me say something to see if you understand how ****ing stupid this post is, the Lakers are drafting a point guard with their lottery pick, does that make sense to you? The guy you want to trade our mvp caliber franchise point guard for is probably going to get traded to make way for his own replacement. Please for the love of God, watch more basketball

Ugh...even if you want to trade him you can do much better than that. Ingram needs to be in that package, than we can start talking.

Harden's "giving up" in games doesn't just happen in the playoffs you know. In fact I don't know how many times he just gives up in the middle of the game and auto pilots in the regular season.

He needs dependable teammates, for **** sake one guy that's not terrified to shoot when they get the ball on their spot, is that really too much to ask?

I don't know much, but I do know we can never trust in Harden.

Boston or Philly. Do it, M. Please.Lotto picks and assets we could use. We won't miss Harden a bit. Think of all the times we made our runs with Harden on the bench. Wouldn't it be more fun to watch the team getting stops and fast breaks all game long? C'mon, Morey. Improve the product, the team. Pretty please.

He shat the bed completely when he played alongside, Durant, WB in the finals, he shat the bed against Portland when Dwight was playing one of the best series as a Rocket, he has shat the bed against Clippers while Josh Smith and Corey Brewer busted their asses and brought us back, Now he shat the bed this year with a brand new squad.

Somehow this is everyone else's fault

I agree. He's a elite talent but you can't ever fully put your trust into a guy who quit on you. This year isn't the only time I've seen him quit too. I'd rather rebuild w/ assets & picks, than move forward with a guy who you don't know which team he's playing for

To be fair, Harden doesn't really "quit" that often in the regular season. Or the playoffs.
I think he just gets outmatched in the playoffs, and when he is having a REALLY off game, doesn't have defense or off ball movement as part of his game so he can become a liability in those cases.
It really doesn't happen that often in the regular season.

If you look at basketball reference's gamescores, for example, he had 3 games out of 11 in the playoffs with a gamescore below 10. He had only 4 games out of 81 all season in the regular season. So 27% of his post-season games compared with only 5% of regular season games. Conversely he had a gamescore over 30, 22 times in the regular season - 27% of his games. He did that twice in the post season - so 18% of his games.

At the end of the day, the Rockets don't have any other stars, superstars or all stars surrounding Harden. And in the playoffs you are playing against consistently better competition. Outside of the true true superstars... some decline is probably to be expected.

What happens on those true choke games... got me.

I do miss all of those things, I believe the only way is to flush and start again. Yep, I would expect 3 pretty bad seasons in a row, then maybe a playoff opp, then maybe greatness. Trade Harden for a top 3 pick to start (if possible). Beverly might be another piece worth something younger in return.

Only the Rockets fans would want to trade someone that has finished in the top 3 of League MVP 2 of the last 3 years

unless you are trading harden for westbrook, curry, lebron - it's a hilariously bad idea. People forget the lotto years quickly. Harden isn't perfect...and his game is sometimes lazy. I don't think he
"quit" on the team - I think he sometimes doesn't play with confidence and when that happens he plays terribly. His game is not a power game - he's never been that type of player. It's just that no one notices how lazy he is when the shots are falling and the team is winning

Harden is the ultimate old-man game player. Savvy, efficient, tricky, and yes a bit lazy.

But the man competes. He drives in there and gets hit A LOT. He is banged up, but not worn out.

Like I said before, the problem is not Harden. He has flaws but that doesn't mean you give up on the guy. It just means that he can't be the only star on the team - he needs help. He needs someone to pick him up when he's not there, and frankly, he needs a teammate who knows how to get in his head.

I really think losing Nene hurt us a lot more than people realize. Not for what he does as a basketball player, but for what he does for Harden's psyche. You really see when Harden makes a few mistakes in a row, Nene comes over and grabs him and says things to him like a big brother. I know it sounds strange, but I think Harden isn't the most mentally strong guy out there.

Rarely do superstar trades result in a decent reciprocal exchange. Anytime an star of Harden's calibre is involved in a trade, the trade is typically lopsided. That said, I can think of a few names I'd be willing to entertain though I know others here are not as hot about them - Melo, Jimmy Butler, etc. (some are more available than others).

I think some people could have told you before the Playoffs. It was no mystery.
