James Harden is so good during the regular season, it always seems like the Rockets are one or two pieces away. Then Harden forgets how to play basketball in winning time in the playoffs..
Right before Game 6 I would be ok with that statement now we are 3 or 4 mentally strong players away.
the meltdown started in the middle of the 3rd in game 5, not the 4th http://www.espn.com/nba/playbyplay?gameId=400952494
Yes for the taking ...... even if we beat the spurs, we will still get swept by the GSW and will embarass us so thoroughly that Harden will take his own life .... as he cant face the world and his critics anymore ... Lets be real guys.
Getting swept by GSW isn't nearly as embarrassing as getting held in check by Simmons, schooled by 40 year old Ginoboli and getting blown out at home against a Spurs team missing their best player and another starter. We ended up with the same final result as Memphis except they were missing 2 key pieces and the Spurs were fully healthy. Fail.
Memphis has had an up and down fight all regular season but when they are playing good ol' Defense, they would have fought us to 7 games.
We had two close games against the Warriors and lost. That was pretty much it. You guys, we are talking about championship worthy. Maybe he just can't do it all by himself. No one can, not even LBJ. Parsons and Howard are proven non-stellar star players. The help he's had simply not enough IMO to make us challenge the contenders. We are close to uprooting the Spurs. Oh so close. Some upgrades next year, I think we can do it. Again, we are talking about Championship. That in itself is quite a progress. What's the alternative. Rebuilding? We have over-performed this year if you ask me.
not from last year. Coming into this season, honestly, if we were told we would win 55+ games, pretty much sweep the first round playoff opponent and took the Spurs to a real hard fought series just to come a bit short, would we all take it? I would. Now, next year to me is important. If we take a step backwards like last year ... then maybe
I thought I would never see somebody out do what Rondo did to the Mavs in the 2015 playoffs. Harden said "hold my beer watch this" Just a reminder of when Rondo quit on the Mavs:
I know, I know, the internet allows any idiot to have a voice. It just depresses me that people like mathrocker and riko are running around out there, but here's the thing, it reminds me they're not the exception, they're the probably the rule! I'm not sure if the education system is just broken or it's a societal issue, but they can barely formulate complete sentences, and I doubt their thoughts are actually their own at this point. It's just a microcosm of much larger issues going on today, but if I choose to participate here as well, it's something I need to welcome and accept, not fight against.
Grateful? I don't know. It's not like the players donated their time to play basketball for us. They get paid millions and millions of dollars. We are the customers, and we have a right to be upset with what the team gave us. Some people say the season really starts when the playoffs begin. The playoffs were very disappointing for Rockets fans.
That's a bit extreme. I think the last game and quarter of game 5 were disappointing, but I don't think winning the first round and taking the 2nd seed Spurs team (I think most would agree were a better team) to a tough 5 games before giving up game 6 is a disappointment. To each their own I suppose.
