I'm not trying to sound like a snob or an arsehole but some of you guys aren't watching enough basketball to equate value to players and you're going off media perception and how you see guys perform against the rockets. This team that we have right now, minus Anderson plus Carmelo if Nene stays healthy can win a championship. Ppl are really discounting his abilities because Phil Jackson is r****ded and doesn't want to work with any associates of LeBron. If we got to go in to get a clutchfans lp account I'm in if it means we get more educated post
Have you guys lost you're collective minds? Melo is on his last leg and even that leg has a limp. He is a fish out of water these days as a superstar or even an all star.
First of all we'd have to trade away good role players that include Ariza to make room to offer a max contract to walking injury Blake Griffin. Let's not even start with the pipe dream that is Hayward. Secondly, we got Harden for a assets that had value. Jeremy Lamb was a top 13 pick and a Raptors lotto pick. We don't have those kinds of assets. Be realistic and get your head out of the clouds before you disappoint yourself. Melo for Anderson is a good gamble especially if you don't think losing Anderson will hurt the team.
At what price would Melo acceptable? We could have a Josh Smith type of situation where Melo is bought out and could be had for a much cheaper deal.
I would not say no to Melo if all it costs us is Anderson, filler, and pick(s)... Then have them recruit the rest of Team USA...
“(Carmelo and I) don’t have a bad relationship. I speak to him. He’s a good guy,” D’Antoni, who coached Anthony as an assistant with Team USA, said last year on The Vertical podcast. “But I had one vision that I wanted him to play one way. He wanted to go the other way. I couldn’t get to my way.” www.nydailynews.com/amp/sports/basketball/knicks/carmelo-anthony-gave-ultimatum-forced-mike-antoni-article-1.3150485
Carmelo Anthony isn't the answer. Maybe back when we pursued him, when he was younger and had more value. Besides, I don't think LaLa would go for Houston. And as the saying goes, "If she ain't happy, you ain't happy!"
NBA contracts aren't done that way. Rather, a player's likelihood to miss games is factored into their value. If Gallo had played 82 games a season for 5 years on consistent playoff team, he would be getting 25m this summer. I think we can snatch Gallo for less than Anderson though.
i believe gallo assuming he opts out of his $16 player option is going to easily make more then Ryno's 18mil per year imo.
I don't think so, but I guess we're just speculating. I think he gets about 18. There's so much injury risk and like Anderson he's a major liability and the teams with major cap space don't need veteran PF's other than the Jazz I'd say. Also, he's not an NBA SF anymore.
probably where we disagree cause i believe he's still a sf and capable of playing pf in small ball. basically, the main point is he is versatile with size and good shooting and that's something the league absolutely loves. but yeah we shall see. he might chase the money or he might sacrifice a bit to go to a better team.
http://www.essence.com/news/lala-carmelo-anthony-divorce-facts WOW! I didn't even know. Cue the Southwest Airlines commercial: "You knocked up a stripper?" Want to get away for awhile?
