LOL Rockets will have two very talented players who have no heart, soul and basketball IQ. In others words, two talented losers.
I'd trade Anderson for him. Melo is a loser and quitter just like Harden, but he's damn talented. As I said, at some point you win when your team is just way more talented than the other team, I'd consider it.
Anthony wanted Dantonio out and told the organization. When Dantonio found out about this, he quit the same day. This was in the news two days ago.
I really can't stand Melo and I've always felt that he can't stand Texas. That said, we need to get better production out of a $20mil player than what Ryno has given us this post-season.
Most of us on this site are rockets fans. We ALL took an L. Why are you even on here? You have Harrison Barne's prime years to look forward to!!!!
I changed my vote from no to yes. I only do it if it's a swap for Ryan Anderson. Melo's contract ends earlier than Anderson's and at least we know that Melo can actually produce in the playoffs. I don't want to hear anything about injury history because Anderson is prone to injuries too. To me it's a salary dump.
Dude get out of that mindset, these are men playing basketball for a very lucrative living. Sports are suppose to be fun
A hot take that, in actuality, isn't that hot. I'd rather have Carmelo than Ryan Anderson. I'll take my chances with him over the alternative.
We need another star player if we're ever going to be a serious contender. We all know this. If all we're talking is basically a swap for Ryan Anderson, then obviously we have to at least consider this. None of us are blind to his shortcomings. None of us are unaware of the friction and history between him and D'Antoni. I know he makes a ton of money. I know he has a trade kicker. These aren't exactly small details. But I do know this: we overachieved this year, and I remember being blissfully unaware of the fact that we also overachieved in 2015 and rolled into the next season with high expectations only to see the franchise nosedive. Anderson is replaceable. A player with first team All-NBA talent, even despite his flaws, isn't an opportunity you see every day. It's at least worth a look.
I have a feeling that Melo is going to be on a redemption tour. His team doesn't want him, his wife left him, and his city hates him. MDA and Melo have a lot in common (minus the wife thing).
I don't think Melo is coachable or a system player. Harden already has flaws in that regard but nowhere near the NBA's most wasted talent, Carmelo Anthony. If Harden and Anthony won a championship in Houston with Mike D'Antoni I think every NBA fans' head would explode.
Exactly. The only downside would be the already fractured relationship Melo has with D'Antoni. Maybe the change of culture and our team chemistry will help mend that. But I'm with ya, he would bring much more to the table in terms of not just scoring but rebounding as well... since he would likely move to a hybrid PF role with us.
