Thought you were joking. But it's exactly what tallanvor is doing below.

it's dishonest to release memo? is it because it put a bad light on Trump? You ignored the question on Trump. Do you not think it's at minimum an abuse of his power?

if the goal is to blame someone for obstruction of justice then yes

No. You would need to show the investigation being obstructed.

Well, riffing on the other poll thread, I think about 88% of us are glad @tallanvor isn't a member of the US Senate.
(And the % might be higher than that, LOL.)

Now it's Comey's fault he didn't report this directly to Jeff Sessions who is Comey's boss and Trump's good buddy. Mkay.

Again, his testimony seems the only way to know for sure... but it seems possible that (1) when Trump made the request (after asking Pence and Sessions to leave!) it would be understandable for Comey to be caught off guard. Especially if he wasn't all that confident about his own continued employment. And (2) if Comey worried that Trump would fire him either as a result of not "easing up" on Flynn, or for divulging Trump's request, then it seems reasonable that he would divulge it after being fired.

I'm sure the deniers here would've had the exact same reaction if Obama had gone to Comey and told him to drop the investigation into Hillary's emails LOL.

This is my opinion. How am I, or anyone else for that matter who has not heard the actual conversations, suppose to answer if its good or bad for Trump?

I warned about this months ago; Trump is spitting out so much nonsensical chaff that its difficult for anyone to keep up. Trump is using Twitter to whip up the media into a frenzy every other day by tweetings some of the most nonsensical stuff. This leads to wishful thinking (Trump could be impeached if .....), baseless hypothetical accusations and the distorted truth.

If you ever read work by the 'internets best troll', Ken M, you can see some of the similarities between the styles.

This is not a defense to Trump, contrary to Leftist popular belief. I dont believe Trump is going to lead us into another world war or that he is going to try to become dictator or that he's in bed with the Russians or that he's doing this to expand his great wealth. I personally think he is an arrogant asshat who is only trying to achieve another feather in his hat. He's not good for this country, but neither was Clinton or pretty much anyone on the tickets.

Instead of reacting to every Trump piece of news, people need to take a step back and wait for the details and truth. Trump will always distort this and that is the danger. There is a world of a difference between "Comey, stop investing Flynn or I will fire you" vs "I fired Flynn and he's no longer around. Stop the investigation".

Benghazi was bad enough. We dont need a monthly Trump "Benghazi" due to wishful thinking.

So basically you want Comey to go quietly into the night.

telling the Senate would be the opposite of going quietly. literally and figuratively.

Why would Hillary's (or in this case, Comey's) firing change the seriousness of a sitting president obstructing justice? Even if someone would have naively thought the president's intention was "noble" (gee, I only meant to help my friend) the act in itself would impact a current investigation involving Russia.

Comey should not have been fired. He, without justification, took flack from both major political parties for doing his job.

The letter from Trump to Comey came the day after Flynn was fired. It is no more obstruction of justice than Democrats demanding Comey be fired - for doing his job.

I didn't read the entire thread yet; I can generally guess as to the participants and their responses. As many might guess mine:

If Hillary had done this, wouldn't the Republicans have already tied Hillary Clinton to the stake and thrown on the gasoline, lit the match, by now?

    EDIT:
Glancing up the page: Yep. bigtexxx chimes in with his, "They didn't SEE the memo, they just decided to go off a libtard FBI agent who has an ax to grind" etc etc etc.

"Comey's associates", of course, being FBI agents who might not have taken kindly to their former boss's firing (obstruction of justice in itself, let alone the memo), and see no further need to sit on this information.

Hope that memo doesn't magically get erased, but Comey will likely testify before long.

Right? They would definitely be questioning how Comey's memo exactly came out and not at all the content.
