So...I thought we were definitely facing Kluber and Carrasco this weekend. Now, we might face only Carrasco and possibly neither Carrasco nor Kluber? http://cleveland.indians.mlb.com/news/probable_pitchers/index.jsp?c_id=cle
He's not horrible, either. Though he is awkward out there, his athleticism has helped him cover for doing the wrong thing a lot of the time. This past week was tough, but before that, he was making the plays needed.
Through a quarter of the season: 1) Best record in baseball 2) 14-6 at home and 14-6 on the road 3) 2nd in MLB in run differential (+58) 4) 8-2 over the last ten games *as well as the Rangers have been playing over the past ten games they actually dropped a game in the standings going 7-3
Carrasco's start has been moved to Tuesday, so Salazar will pitch Sunday afternoon. Not sure about Kluber.
Offense (all MLB): + 2nd in AVG + 3rd in OBP + 4th in OPS + T-3rd in Runs + T-5th in HR Pitching + 1st in Ks + 1st in BAA + 2nd in ERA (1st in the AL) What's crazy is the incredible balance of our offense -- despite ranking top 5 in several major categories across the majors, our leader in OPS among qualified players is Correa, who is 50th in the majors (Marwin would be a bit higher... as would Marisnick (?!)). Reddick leads the team with .297 BA, and that is good for 36th in the league. Our leader in RBIs is McCann at 25, which is good for 29th in the league. Likewise, we lead in Ks overall with no one in the top 10 (but 3 in the 10-20 range, plus Devo). This is a team effort.
Kluber is on the DL, threw for the first time yesterday. They're expecting his return near the end of the month. He's been fairly bad this season (likely pitching with a minor injury), so I wouldn't mind facing him, but doesn't look likely.
