That's not really a solution though because it would still just be a "he said, she said" situation and his options would be to either deny the memo's accuracy or claim that he covered up Trump attempting to obstruct justice while he was the FBI director by not reporting the illegal activity at any point.....not really the best position for him to be in.

It's just a story for the media unless there is some actual solid evidence to support the memo Comey allegedly wrote.

Sure, if the memo actually ends up being legit then it's one first hand account, which is great so long as you don't end up with 2 contradictory first hand accounts. When it's a he said she said scenario, you have to have something else to have a real case.

 

So basically as long as Trump denies anything that ever comes out about him you'll go ahead and say it's a non-story.

The above describes what has happened to so many of those who have followed trump on his bizarre journey. Some are coming to realize that they have been duped. More will realize it as this sorry road to ruin continues, in my humble opinion. Then there are those who will be repeating the lies and distortions of trump as truth until the day they die, whispering his name from the hospital bed, and instead of "rosebud," a witness will hear as the last words, "fake news... "

 

I realize you'll continue to just parrot this point but it wasn't denied. McMaster denied that Trump explicitly revealed sources and methods, that's it. He didn't deny the following:

1. The Washington Post's accusation that Trump revealed classified information to the Russians. We can go in circles about whether that's a crime but it was a stupid thing to do.

2. The Post's accusation that Trump indirectly revealed the source and methods. McMaster used a lot of technical jargon and legalese to defend his position but he never explicitly denied the Washington Post's reporting.

 

It's all a conspiracy. Comey, the FBI, Michael Flynn surveilled conversations, Paul Manafort shady real estate dealings, the CIA, the NSA, the FISA court, Israeli code-word intelligence were all planted to take out Trump!

 

It's like I've heard this before just about 20 years ago.....

Remember when it was a "scandal a day" in the Clinton administration and the talking points were that it was a "vast right wing conspiracy"?

 

So basically as long as no real evidence comes out then it'll be a non-story in that it's not going anywhere. You know, pretty obvious stuff here.

 

Comey was a long-time bureaucrat, and as a bureaucrat you can bet your ass there is a solid documentation trail of everything that transpired. The orange one is out of his league.

 

Things I've learned in this thread:

1) We have an incapable, ignorant, and corrupt leader in the most powerful seat in the world.

2) This is Bobbythegreat in a nutshell for the next 4 years:

(Does everything in the world to defend and support Trump, short of slurping his orange dick)

What would you consider evidence in this case?

 

In this case since if Comey testified that the memo is his and it is accurate it would boil down to a "he said, she said" situation so evidence to sway this into something that would matter would be something like an additional credible first hand witness or a recording device.

Anyway, this is blowing up badly. The question is, when do Senate Republicans move against Trump. Until then he is going to continue to get away with all of this.

At some point, the Senate Republicans are going to have to commit political suicide with their base to save the country. I mean, they are screwed either way, might as well protect the union from this orange skinned freak.

 

So have the dems already moved on from this BOMBSHELL story?

also for those who say there is no evidence (delusional as that might be) it should be noted that the notes of an FBI agent are considered credible evidence in court.

 

Recordings can be faked. Videos too.
