[WaPo] Trump Revealed Highly Classified Information to Russian Foreign Minister and Ambassador

I was always on the fence about it. I view both of them as national embarrassments and that's why I just couldn't endorse either candidate with my vote. I think we all agree though that the Democrats should have done a better job and we both hope they will do a better job in the next presidential election

What are you basing this on? No first hand sources are saying that it was "stupid and dangerous" and none of them have said that it "puts intel sources at risk" or causes "allies to no longer trust the United States". Basically you are going entirely on the 3rd hand rumors from the story that has been called false by those who were actually in the room.

Like I was saying, you WANT to believe that story is true, so you don't need any actual evidence before you parrot the story as fact.

Admitting it wasn't just fake news and "hating" would be a good start. You guys are always extremely vocal at first ("you guys are just spewing fake news!" etc) and then just leave without saying a word.

Makes me question whether you're actually concerned about fake news or are just using the term whenever it suits your case.

Conservative pundit Erick Erickson is vouching for the reliability of a least one source who revealed to Washington Post reporters that President Donald Trump disclosed “highly classified information” while meeting with Russian officials last week.

Erickson knows one of the sources and supports their decision to go to the media, he wrote Tuesday in a blog post for his website, The Resurgent.

“This is a real problem and I treat this story very seriously because I know just how credible, competent, and serious — as well as seriously pro-Trump, at least one of the sources is,” Erickson wrote.

“You can call these sources disloyal, traitors, or whatever you want,” he added. “But please ask yourself a question — if the President, through inexperience and ignorance, is jeopardizing our national security and will not take advice or corrective action, what other means are available to get the President to listen and recognize the error of his ways?”

 

Some foreign intelligence politicians did exactly say that, there are articles and quotes in this thread.

You know that Trump himself admitted that the article was right? Confuses me how you are still talking about those idiotic first-hand sources which have historically denied everything when it comes to Trump and his cabinet.

There has been no evidence that this story isn't anything other than "fake news". Everyone who would actually know has said that the story, as reported, is false. Nothing has come out since then that would suggest otherwise. Where it stands now is that people who simply desire to believe the story is true are parroting it as if it's fact and everyone else is skeptical.

No, he didn't. He "admitted" that he talked to the Russians about airline flight safety....at no point did he suggest that the story, as written, was true. He did talk to the Russians, he likely talked about classified information, but that doesn't mean the story is true.....and in fact they've said many times that it's not. Till you have some sort of proof otherwise, you are just holding on to hope.

About half the posters in this thread. They have no factual basis to believe the story that was reported, but they hope it's true and that's enough for them.

Every single scandal requires actual evidence. Till you have that, you don't have a real scandal, you just have 3rd hand rumors. Certainly that's enough for people like you who simply want to believe, but it shouldn't be enough for anyone even pretending to be unbiased. Do your best to at least pretend that you aren't completely blinded by hate when it comes to issues involving the president. Right now you guys are no better than white nationalists talking about Obama and it's pretty pathetic.
