Kawhi wouldn't be who he is if he landed here and neither would IT. That back court with IT and Harden would be super disastrous for us on defense and knowing you have to pay them both max deals; that would have maybe limited them to sign other stars or attractive FAs.

Also have to consider that maybe IT saves Mchale's job and Pringles isn't coaching here today

OP is just a salty DOF mad at Maury cause he tried to trade his boy Dwight and after that he didn't resign him, this is like the third post he started lately trying to take out of the trash every non argument possible to attack "his" gm...just wait until the Spurs trade for Asik and he plays well with them, there'll be a post like "thanks Morey for trading Asik for a useless 1st pick"

I wanted Dragic at the time, but it became clear that was never gonna pan out when he had his ridiculous list of demands like the handful of teams he'd be willing to resign with and a max contract. I never understood why Morey wasn't privy to this beforehand. If he didn't wanna come here, why waste the time and energy on trying to acquire him?

was never on that bandwagon. i liked the eg deal, a risk we needed to take after missing out on everone else. nene was a steal. a bunch of min deals, all that would've been a good offseason if he didnt sign ryan. 20m for a guy who does only one thing good is terrible. s hill does
if you dont like that then you dont like moreyball!

Don't blame Morey, blame IT for being a player that is making other NBA teams pay.

Daryl Morey has made a few trades and aquisitions where I scratched my head.
    For example:
1.) Trading For Terrence Williams in 2010
2.) Trading For Hasheem Thabeet in 2011
3.) Drafting Royce White in 2012
4.) Letting Goran Dragic go 2012. Not giving him a player option was kinda stupid IMO.
5.) Pursuing Chris Bosh instead of Kyle Lowry in 2014
6.) Pursuing Carmelo Anthony instead of Kyle Lowry in 2014
7.) The Ryan Anderson contract in 2016. Just atrocious. I would have gone all out for Serge Ibaka.

The non-trade for Isaiah Thomas is not a mistake that I am critical of Daryl Morey for.
Isaiah Thomas is 5'9" and he is a huge defensive liability.
There were also questions regarding his role on the team and whether he would get along with his fellow players.
Remember, Isaiah did clash with his fellow players, coaches and management when he was in Phoenix.
Isaiah has also questioned the coaches and play calling in Boston this year.

The other thing is that both Terrence Jones and Donatas Motiejūnas were playing well at the time and we thought we could get more for them.
Unfortunately, both ended getting injured and were never the same.
(Terrence Jones with a punctured lung and Motiejūnas with a ruptured disk in his back.)

In hindsight, it was a bad decision to not trade for Isaiah Thomas but hindsight is 20/20.
Based on the circumstances and what we knew then, it is hard to criticize Morey for not pulling the trigger on that trade.

Would you have taken Jordan over Akeem?

I don't believe Isaiah Thomas makes us much (if any) better. His strengths are not our weaknesses, and his [glaring] weaknesses only exacerbate the ones we already have: size and defense.

IT is an incredible scorer, but he's also one of the more overrated players in the league right now.

So we rag on Harden for being a point guard who plays no defense, but you're mad at Morey for not trading one of two players who potentially could have gotten max deals (as per Lowe and other notable sports personalities) for a point guard that plays no defense. Also, he's undersized. Got it.

That's my point man. GM's will always make a bad move, that is inevitable. It's impossible to make the right move every time. As long as they're making a lot more good moves than bad, then they're doing a good job. As I said in an other thread, I'm curious to see if Morey will acknowledge the failure of the Ryan Anderson gameplan and will try to move him or not. If he doesn't, then maybe I will come back to you and have changed my opinion. As of now though, I don't think he has really messed up. He put a good team together, and that team SEVERELY under-performed in game 6. leading to a fanbase meltdown.

Dragic is still the better fit. IT needs the ball on every possession and the defense needs to hide him every time on defense.

YEAH, THANKS Morey for building a team that was ONLY 3rd in the West and maybe 5th in the entire NBA last year.
    HOW pedestrian.

We want one of those other 'winner' GM's like Donnie Nelson in Dallas
Why can't we be like THEM??

And who knows if we could have developed Kawhi like the Spurs have?
When he came into the league he was no lights out shooter. Average at BEST
Mostly known for D. But he has come a long way since then

i didnt finsih tha tpots and forget what i was gonna say after s hill but i do believe there's enough takers on ryan. 70m for noah and dwight, 100m for adams, hill got 50, someone will want one of the best stretch 4s. since in ths the offseason contracts dont really have to match well so i'll take a decent bench player, a backup up, 1st rounder. a 1st rounder would be sweet so morey can try again with that 20m

Do you think going after Blake Griffin or Serge Ibaka would be a good direction to go into? If we were able to move Anderson that is.

So could have all the teams before the Rockets too with that incredible power of hindsight.....

Not sure why you need to make up some story about it though.
