Lol, That dude was only with the Texans because of Wade. He is a bum of a player. The saints need every ounce of help on defense and they chose to cut him. He'll probably try and see if the Rams need a backup.
it was meant as a joke, but it's crazy that he's managed to stay in the league so long. Anyway, it would be fun to see him come back here if only to get more of this
The Jets’ offensive line (20th in pass-blocking, 28th in run-blocking) struggled immensely in 2015, especially on the outside. Their starting tackles, D’Brickashaw Ferguson (ranked 62nd of 76 OTs) and Breno Giacomini (ranked 69th), had replacement-level seasons. They were, arguably, the least effective duo of OTs in the NFL. In the passing game, Ferguson and Giacomini were dominated by edge rushers nearly every week (ranking 50th and 39th in pass-blocking efficiency among 59 OTs, respectively). Unfortunately, they weren’t much better blocking the run—running outside these tackles yielded only 2.8 yards per carry. https://www.profootballfocus.com/pro-offseason-to-do-list-for-the-new-york-jets/
Seems like the Texans spend more on getting guards and centers. They've spent high draft picks (XSF, Martin, Ben Jones, Brooks) and free agency money (Jeff Allen, Bergstrom) on guards but not as much on tackles (aside from Duane Brown in 2008 of course). Derek Newton was a 7th round pick.
Duane being a franchise LT for the last decade had a lot to do with that. Looking at it another way, the Texans have also spent a lot more money resigning their tackles while letting guys like Jones and Brooks walk.
Pardon me for being so late, but I just realized we drafted, not one, but 2 Heisman candidates (Watson , Foreman). Even though neither won, can this still be considered as our "Heisman Draft"???
I wonder how old this is. They also have 9 wins for Indy and 8.5 for Houston and Tennessee. Or maybe they just think we have a better chance for a playoff run.
Well it's official. I hope we sign someone better to compete for that RT job, but it seems likely this is the guy we're going with.
Potentially, but that's not because Giacomini is any good, it's because Clark is just that terrible. Either way, I'm still holding out hope for better.
