1 + the blown save that jake actually saved....yes I know it is a made up stat.

In that case, the save he actually did blew was more Keuchel/Hinch's fault, since he was brought into a situation where he literally could not afford to allow any contact, let alone give up a hit.

It's not a made up stat; its wrong. Does a strike out not count in your eyes if the ball was out of the strike zone

Well, if we take it further, The first blown save was all Hinch's because Devo should have been brought in, and DK should have been taken out earlier. So, according to the soon to be official stat Weighted Blown Saves (wBS), Hinch: 1, Giles: 1

In this context, made up is synonymous with wrong.

If there were 81 of them, the crowd would not be so large. :)

come on, man. You know this is ridiculous. Are we counting runs for Springer's catch on Thurs against anyone's ERA? What about HR's that we hit that fielders bring back from over the fence...do we count them as HRs and use that to justify that players are not actually slumping if the stats say they are?

You have your opinion on Giles--that's fine. Say he didn't put away hitters with 2 strikes and it's a problem..whatever the issue is. But you can't just start moving stats where it makes sense for your statement and leave the rest alone.

Yes, it's ridiculous. In the sense that I never meant it to be a serious way to look at things. It was a joke, I was being sarcastic, I thought that was standard procedure? I don't want Giles to fail.

Do we get to call up a 26th player for the doubleheader, never really sure how that rule works?

They recalled Dayan Diaz again as the 26th man. Because it was an unscheduled doubleheader (less than 48hr notice) he's only available for the 2nd game.

Seems like the unscheduled DH should allow greater leniency than a scheduled (planned) DH. Weird rule.

FOOTBALL CITY! JJ needs to change this to a Basketball Tournament maybe before a Rockets playoff game.
