Hey bro...did you see the green smiley face in the middle of that sentence? It was sarcasm. The Astros ARE the class of the league right now.
Stupid non retractable roof ball parks / stadiums...... Astros are on a roll....last thing we need is some extra time off and time for the Yanks to gather themselves....
Roofs are nice when needed, but those stadiums aren't able to be as open as non-roofed ones. That's the reason everyone doesn't have one. This doesn't mean retractables can't be nice.. MM is a Top 5 ballpark. Also, rain doesn't affect many games.... it just very inconvenient when it does.
oh yea man all good... I should've made a general question to anyone not you directly I got what you were saying...I got this thread bookmarked..and yea I agree they're definitely rockin
My understanding is that the weather is so bad you wouldn't want people driving to the park even if it has a roof. No big deal to me. Double header tomorrow sounds like a good Sunday.
I still cannot believe this team has actually started 25-11. Better than any start that we could have dreamed of.
Only thing that can stop them this season is the same thing that can stop anyone, any season.... the "I" word.
Altuve is playing about as well as he did in 2014 and 2015. Last year may have been the fluke. Other players like McCann and Keuchel are also playing above their likely performance. The performance so far is probably a pretty good representation of who they are - a decent number of players on either side of their expectations.
We were scheduled to fly home at noon. Delta issued a weather waiver in anticipation of all the rain, so we were able to change our flight to 6:00 AM (much to my wife's chagrin). Supposed to get 2-3 inches of rain, but I didn't see where they were expecting actual thunderstorms. There was just a nice steady shower between 4:00 AM and the time we left.
Not sure why you're taking offense. Was mainly directed to whoever started the Hinch lineup threads and the road McCullers thread. When George wasn't in the lineup the day afrer his injury, somebody proclaimed he'd be out tulle June. This place is unintentionally entertaining. People even get worked up during rainouts.
haha...how did I know you guys would find something wrong with this? It really doesn't matter what I say. What he is right now is not who he is. A two time batting champion that you are calling a fluke? unbelievable. Honestly SMH man. Also to say he is playing about as well as he did in 14' or 15' is just absurdly false.
Hey Bob, got a joke for you.... A linguistics professor was lecturing his class the other day. “In English,” he said, “a double negative forms a positive. However, in some languages, such as Russian, a double negative remains a negative. But there isn’t a single language, not one, in which a double positive can express a negative.” A voice from the back of the room piped up, “Yeah, right.”
It's exactly what he was in 2014 and 2015. Reading comprehension is fundamental. Batting average is a very small piece of the puzzle of what he was last year. Ummm: 2014 OPS: 0.830 2015 OPS: 0.812 2016 OPS: 0.928 2017 OPS: 0.825 He's virtually identical to 2014 and 2015. His OBP and SLG are identical to those years. He's walking a bit more and hitting for a slightly lower average. He's hitting with the same amount of power. 2016 is the outlier as of now. Stats are available everywhere on the internet. It's not hard to look up.
I forgot to point out that we all know that Gregerson did not have a 3-up, 3-down inning last night - right? I mean, he did give up a double that Springer caught, didn't he?
Don't like the rainout today and giving the Yankees time to reground from us beating them the first 2 games of this 4 game series. Now its a doubleheader tomorrow and hope will can take at-least one but a sweep on Deter Night will be very sweet!!!
