I know McHale had his issues as a coach, but one thing he deserves credit for is sitting Harden in game 6. How many coaches would bench their franchise player for the 4th quarter when it's an elimination game and you are down by 20. Probably pop, but that's about it. Some times guys don't have it and despite their ego you have to do whats best for the team. In the case with the spurs it was a 40 point blowout so it probably didn't matter.

After the same game McHale explained in his post game interview explained his reasoning. Harden was was IV drip all day before the game started and probably should have sat out all together.

He also deserves credit for the Harden lack of heart shown. He bent over backwards and let James do whatever the F he wanted with no repercussions

As a young guy leading the team for the first time on his own, McFail had a chance to mould and teach Harden the rope and ingrain some good leadership qualities but instead being the lackey he is just stood there and watched the clown show proceed

Rockets could have won both game 5 and 6. MDA should have sat Harden the moment he sniffed the quit in the air.

Harden was incredible for 90% of game 5. If it weren't for him there would be no OT.

Just because a guy carries a team doesn't mean he can't be the culprit for losing games in crucial moments.

With your logic the best player on most teams should never be criticized

What made mchale a good coach is what cost him his job: holding every player accountable

Who said he dosent deserve to be roasted? So pointing out he was the reason the game was close is wrong? I just pointed out he was pretty good for majority of game 5. The disappearing act in game 6 is what is mystifying.

I thought you were implying that game 5 wasn't roastable because he was the reason it was in OT...I am equally as disgusted by game 5, if not more disgusted.

Game 5 turnovers while horrid were the result of him being active and not reactive. Game 6 he was passive from the get go. Atleast in game 5 he tried and for majority of the night he was amazing. Game 6 was passive and reactive ball.

I disagree... i view game 5 as Harden ****ing up... I view game 6 as Harden not even trying (esp 1st half)... I can accept a guy struggling and messing up - can always improve... the latter though is inexcusable imo...

MDA should have thanked him for getting the Rockets that far and sat his ass on the bench.

Yep and that is what bugs people. This is guy who had 43 points with Leonard and Green guarding him a few games back but to only wet the bed in game 6 by being passive. If Harden was some scrub with limited ability no one would be so angry but he has unlimited ability and had shown in prior games he could dominate the Spurs but to not even try in game 6 was astounding.
