Can't get on board with voluntarily trading Harden as almost certainly you would be putting yourself outside of contender's reach for the foreseeable future.

Why does it feel like we get these kind of threads every year when we lose a round?

    Trade Harden?

    Yes.

For a Liklard or PG? No. Lillard is not on the same level. PG is interesting - not the same level offensively but at least tries to play defense. But not a step up.

Trading Harden is partly about Harden and partly about the Warriors.

It's way more risky... but I prefer lots of draft picks and young up and coming players. I prefer setting it up for success in 3-5 years. I prefer copying the Thunder, Warriors, Cavs (Kyrie, Wiggins to Love, and heck Lebron is basically a Cavs draft pick).

Get both Nets picks from Boston, plus Bradley, Jaylen Brown and one of Zizic or the French kid. Boston would say no... but you never know.

i'm not necessarily saying we should trade harden - cause hey, you dont know what will be offered up - esp after this performance...

but tell me Morey couldnt fleece somebody with harden as a trade chip... I could see Morey pulling off a Hershel Walker type deal that would set us up for years to come..

my post got buried in the fallout. i konw it wont happen, but they should trade harden and ryan. before the po's only 2 teams come close to cavs and warriors and they are the spurs and rockets. rockets just proved they cant do it, now its just the spurs. who's gonna compete with those 2 really? no one.

the best way to improve this team long-term is to trade harden and ryan. 2 highest paid players who came up short in the po's. those 2 can get in major talent. morey's good at finding talent so trust him to find a superstar. maybe build up ryan's trade value during hte season but i think teams will give up good piecesfor him.

Let me put it this way: why follow the Rockets if after a long, long season Harden throws it all away in the playoffs? Talent is critical in professional sports, BUT "heartlessness" is intolerable. Make a deal for him and hope he gets his head together in his new location. Let's cut our losses and move on. Send Less and Morey with him.

I'm a Rockets fan, not a Harden fan.

As the meme goes, I've seen enough, Harden is not the man. Cash him in for young players and lottery picks. Fire Dan Tony (he doesn't play or develop young players).

Glad you're a Rockets fan, but I'm even more glad you're not the one making the actual decisions.

...yup - if Dantoni could get Houston to have half the disciple of a team like San Antonio, we would be set. That's what makes San Antonio and Golden State the clear cut favorites.

Harden and 1st round pick for Giannis Antetokounmpo. Salaries will be pretty close next season. Giannis has size, plays BOTH ends of the court, and is still improving but not quite there yet. So the Rockets could possibly get him before everyone really knows who he is.

Trading Harden for ANYONE does not get you one step closer to the Warriors

I guess the idea is to suck until the Warriors are in wheel chairs

At this point in his career, people wanted Olajuwon to be traded too. I'm not happy with Harden at all, but if you step back and look at the situation, he is our best bet right now. We wouldn't get anything close to the talent level of Harden in a trade. Our only hope is for Harden to figure **** out. Hopefully he can get a good sports psychologist that can help him. It sucks that we have a superstar that is either immature or an alcoholic or suffering from an anxiety disorder. But, these are things that can be fixed. A James Harden with his head screwed on straight would be an awesome thing.

Trading Harden sets this franchise back at least 4 years

No disrespect, but you sound like a guy with a ugly, fat, cheating wife who says, "I know she's not perfect, but she's all I have."

Bump that. You gotta raise your standards and divorce that chick. If Harden actually has any of the issue's you mentioned the Rockets need to divorce him too. Hanging around hoping things get better is foolishness.

    Lol, yep.

Then by the time they are there will be some other superteam. For so many people that are calling Harden a quitter they sure are ready to quit competing as a franchise.

I agree except the Morey part. He's undoubtedly our best asset in the entire equation imo. He's been handicapped by le$ since day one. I'm sure he would've pulled a hinkie after the yao years if not for the owner wanting to stew in mediocrity for a few bucks. He also would've brought back jvg if not for the owner once again proving he's an idiot. Harden and le$ can go but I need DM the GM to stay.
