It looked like Utley turned and said something. Then, the ump said something back. Then, Utley got in his face and said "I wasn't f**k-ing talking to you..." and he got really mad. Oops...meant Headley.
Headley squared around to bunt, had his fingers in the wrong place (I was taught this in LL), takes a ball off his knuckes (which are a part of the bat at that point, because he F'd up). He takes a walk around, tries to shake it off, because that **** hurts, he's getting into the box but not fast enough apparently for the Home Plate Ump, HPU gets up and gets into Headley's face, instigating the whole thing, unpleasant words are exchanged, HPU tosses Headley.
Sure looked that way to me. This is a great spot to get Gregerson an inning. No real pressure, go out and throw good pitches and don't dick around.
you sure about this? That was a theory, but haven't seen anything to corroborate that's what the ump said to him to start the conversation (or that the ump even started the conversation)
Of course not, but I didn't see Headley (I keep wanting to call him Heddy Lammar) really do anything and then all the sudden the ump is up and in his face. Then again, to paraphrase Annie Savoy, he might have called him a ********er.
