That's fine. I'm not calling you out. Those who I am calling out are not on this forum right now.....
The bolded quote was the exact reason why this thread was made. They actually were saying that we could not be critical of aspects of Harden's game. The entire point of the thread was missed by you, congrats.
Cool, Harden aint top 5 to you, that's fine. Still love the team, still love the players. Life goes on.
this is getting ugly... Why is everyone so eager to turn on each other right now? The satisfaction that some posters are getting is sickening I got your back @DonKnock
James Harden is not a ****ing Point Guard! Point guards value possesions, point guards control the pace of the game. He will get assists because he's a amazing passer. He has proven he can play point guard but he is at his best when he is a scorer. 2 years ago Harden asked for another ballhandler, instead of actually fixing this issue we decide to make him point guard. Wtf. How does that solve the issue of needing a secondary playmaker to lighten the load? James has basically been the point guard the past 3 years except now he's forgotten how/when to score. The Rockets are again running their only star into the ground. He doesn't rest enough throughout the season. He plays injured in meaningless games chasing stats. The fact that they thought a entire offense revolving around one player would work in "this era", proves the level of stupidity in the coaching staff. Dantoni has not learned a damn thing from his past **** ups. Les is a ****ing idiot for hiring this idiot. 2 peas in pod. **** it! The truth is, the Rockets organization had no interest in actually contending this year. It was all about the MVP for james. Morey had chance after chance to add another big man to the rotation and elected not to. He answered this glaring weakness by trading for Lou Williams. But Dantoni doesn't even know how to use Lou properly. Morey has been looking past this season this entire time and quite frankly so has James. This team was built to be fun to watch, not contend for a championship in the year with probably the most OP team in NBA. Anyone watching the games in January could see the quit in this team, when they miss 3s they give up at every other facet of the game. If they don't care, then why should we? Lol
As a fan, it's all about enjoying the team and have something to root for. We also don't really win anything regardless how the Rockets do, but sports allow you to be something greater than yourself, I used to get really stressed with it. Now I enjoy it for what it is, and that's a better way of rooting.
They deserve it, dude. I've been honest about my dislike for harden, along with many others, and we've gotten killed for it. I'm sure they will come up with some ridiculous justifications though.
Some are but others are just trying to light a fire under Alexander, MDA and Maury's collective arses.
You act like we were the cause? We weren't, Harden was. The people who defend him irrationally deserve to be called out.
Not the guy you replied to, but I understand why people here feel satisfaction in calling guys like DonKnock out or outright block him. He's been extremely condescending and called out people every time their predictions didn't turn out right. Also has this annoying “you don't know sh** about basketball and are overreacting“ attitude that in the end hilariously backfired. Maybe it teaches posters like him a lesson.
One game doesn't define your career. This team overachieved and I'm proud of what they did. Yeah, I wanted more out of the team, but I'm not going to **** on a player that I know I'll be cheering my butt off for next year. That's stupid if you actually like him or the team. That game didn't spell divorce, it spelled, get more help and go at it again. We've learned a weakness about ourselves so we have something to work on.
SamFisher is busy right now. If you leave your name, number, and a brief message he'll get back to you. *beep*
This thread is not based on a single game, its based on multiple games, through multiple years. This game was just another shining example of it. Doubters didn't expect us to beat Golden State, they did expect more out of Harden in this series though. I don't see regular season records as any sort of reprieve for what transpired.
People are irrational in many ways but gloating about your stance on a position doesn't usually do much to change their minds. We're all upset about the loss but all these "told you so" threads popping up calling out people that had hope in their team and its star player seems depressing for a fan forum that supposed to root for their team. Don't confuse that with me saying you shouldn't criticize the team. I'm just saying why argue or call out people that clearly aren't going to change their mind? Sorry man, I just watched my team **** the bed and it just sucks that them failing makes a fellow fan feel better because it justifies their stance on something about the team. /rant
For pessimists to gloat about being pessimistic I guess. I don't know, I've learned from following the Texans that some people are more concerned with being right than wanting their team to win. Some of the "Harden will never win." people will now basically root against the Rockets so that they will be proven right. I'm not going to call out any names though, but know these fans exist. These are ego fans and they surely exist here. You can find them when they are the ones that are quiet while the Rockets are winning. I'm here when they win or lose.
I don't really subscribe to the idea that fan forums are only places for fans to support everybody on the forum all the time.....My point is, the inverse of this thread happens routinely without causing any existential crisis among posters. So why is this any different. I love this team. I don't love Harden. I want him gone. /rant
