The Spurs showed us that tonight.
Give them credit. They have a better defensive team and better churros.

We'll never play consistent defense in the Mike D'antoni era. That is a fact.

Yeah, only two guys in the rotation who are solid defenders just isn't going to cut it.

Sure, bring in the 3-and-no-D guys, but you have to offset them with guys who can lock people up when necessary.

The Rockets are loaded with no defense players.

Their star player is horrible at defense.

They hired a coach who's historically sucked at defense.

This team isn't going to magically get better at defense.

They had 46 defensive rebounds and we have 27.

Makes you wonder then if this team will win anything with D'antoni at the helm.

Given the talent we had this season, our defense surpassed any and all expectations. Just need to get younger and more talented in some areas. Can't rely on Ariza to cover so much defensively at this point.

How is D'Antoni supposed to field a good defense with the players on this roster? The defense was a universal success this season given the talent on the roster.

It's called improving the areas of weakness. That's on Morey. THEN we can talk about the coaching.

    This.

Leslie doubled down & hired Mike (when everyone thought the defense needed fixing)
Daryl talks about needing/wanting a top 10 defense but the roster isn't built that way.
    and James...yeah.

Spin doctor putting the twist on the top. So, keep your expectations low, and that way bad defense will be acceptable? Got it.

But weak defense has always been D'Antoni's rep for a while now. Morey can get all the defense minded players he wants, but they don't buy what D'Antoni's selling, then it ain't gonna work.

That U of H dude on the Spurs was showing more defensive effort than the whole Rockets team.

Rockets made a conscious decision to not give a crap about defense when they hired MDA. And if you don't care about defense, your ceiling is a 2nd round team, MAYBE conference finals at BEST.

Yes, the they didn't have a great defensive roster, but there's no reason a team with Beverley, Capela and Ariza can't be a top 10 rated defense. Team defense trumps individual defensive talent.

I was talking about tonight's game.
Am I right? There was a sequence where that dude guarded 3 Rockets.
