Yeah... I take back my initial reaction. The 0-2 pitch was up/away... good piece of hitting I suppose, but still would have liked him to throw the good slider and try and make him chase.

Hinch has been subbing Marisnick more in LF for road games in stadiums that have more space out there (Oakland, NY)... and in CF for MMP games... but I'm sure that's just Hinch being robotic.

Giles bailed out. He will not be our closer at the end of the year. Mark my words. Great W. Jake continues to show up!

Thank goodness for the Astros. But, dang it. I just don't have faith in Giles. Giles cannot be the closer.

Yep. As valuable as Devo is I think you have to go to him. Giles is a freakin roller coaster.

Who do you put in? The obvious answer is Devo but he's so good in his current role and theres no guarantee the success translates to the 9th inning guy. Gregerson is a big fat no and Will Harris has proven better as a setup guy. Giles makes me nervous but I tend to get that way late innings and close anyways lol. I'd leave him in for now.

What a win! Hell of a game. That's how you finish! Way to go Astros.

This team is so fun to watch.

iirc, Bregman was shifted about 15 feet off the line, otherwise it's right at him.

I was asking for the heat in on the hands, but the good slider down would have worked too. Outside wasn't a bad idea, just got too close to the plate.

Sure, at the time, he did.

Now I'm watching the Rangers try to lose, that's always fun too.

exactly. I think you risk messing with Devo's success potentially and he is lights out and can go 2 innings at a time in relief like he did tonight. Giles is still getting it down albeit it with more excitement than we care for. Giles is still young and can still use some experience so unless he has a major meltdown like when he first got to houston, leave him there-- his fastball and slider are untouchable (When on)

They prolly should let him try to work his way through it. We only have the best damn record in MLB with an iffy closer.

ya. I agree it can't be devo or gregerson. Might have to give Harris another shot or Feliz. Hell, you might even have to bring somebody in. It just absolutely can not and will not be Giles.

And the strength of the Astros' schedule diminishes.

Giles is still the closer. You have to be a badass to get the best hittters around the league down 0-2 which he routinely does. but it's like he's trying to strike him out on 3 pitches never attempting to get them to chase. It's not a lack of talent. Maybe over confidence. Don't know how you fix the situational pitching. My crazy idea last season was for castro to visit the mound to talk about anything ever time he had the batter 0-2.

Great win. Love how everyone picks each other up. TEAM unlike that other peach basket sport.
