If this game plays out like last game I think we can based on the belief that more threes will fall at home. If that doesn't happen and it's a protracted battle I think we're in trouble.

If we have to win this game slogging it out we might not have the energy to win game 7.

Hakeem used to say that a series really didn't start until someone had 3 wins.
Let's see what we're made of and whether we can continue growing as a team.

We should win tonight but we need someone other than Harden to have a big impact on the game.

He said he would think about expanding the rotation in that video. I think people are just reacting to the (somewhat inaccurate) caption.

everyone played an acceptable amount of minutes during regulation for a playoff game even with a 7 man rotation, nobody received some absurd or outlandish amount of playing time...plus we had blown them out so badly in game 4 that Bobby Brown was able to play almost 6 minutes in the 4th so these guys didn't play some excruciatingly taxing game heading into game 5 either

Harden is used to playing heavy minutes and only played 38 minutes in regulation, it's not like he only got 2 minutes of rest

he should've been able to close out that game in the 4th, and "fatigue" shouldn't have been such a huge issue...D'antoni wasn't giving them 40+ minutes of playing time in regulation for game 5, and it's not like we had been playing some 10 man rotation that all of the sudden was dropped down to 7

Maybe Dekker should get some minutes here and there to bring the rotation back to 8, and where would y'all be playing Harrell now that Ryno is seeing significant time at the 5? Everyone else on the roster has no business playing important minutes in a playoff game.

I think it's "stubborn" to think playing younger guys at a crucial time like this is actually beneficial. Nene's biggest skill in the postseason was his EXPERIENCE. Our best lineup is Ryno at the 5, with 5 shooters out there to space the floor. Where in the HELL does Dekker or Montrez fit in there? We could potentially lose a crucial lead (or the whole game) with one dumb mistake from these guys.

Playing younger guys just to convince Harden lovers it wasn't his fault is the most stubborn thing about this. Harden choked game 5 period

    Agree.

Like when they said LaMarcus Aldridge had a heart problem, was out "indefinitely" & returned 2 games later.

    Spurs blowing smoke.

D'Antoni is the best coach the Rockets have ever had. You have to live and die with his results. You won't find a better option than him right now.

Greg Popovich is so shady, it's like he doesn't trust anyone when he gives pre-post and halftime interviews. on the other hand you have Mike Dantoni and James Harden talking about what they did right and adjustments they made like they don't give a ****.

I do have one request. I would like DA to send in some bench player that has no chance of any court time for the specific purpose of punching Simmons in the nose as hard as possible. Maybe also a kick in the nuts. Is he not the most irritating player ever? Something about him. He is too enthusiastic, compulsively chews gum, and is generally a nuisance. I want him nailed to the bench covered with ice packs. Is this too much to ask?

Play with FORCE and PACE for 48 minutes.

Attack the basket and probe the lane.

    Hit your 3pt shots. 15+

    Rebound. Get those 50/50 balls.

I agree. I wish we could get Dekker and Harrell into the rotation just to spell the main guys and keep them fresher down the stretch. But that's not going to happen barring foul trouble, I guess. The Nene injury has made us incredibly thin. Just have to hope for the best.

Did the Rockets look tired in game 5 because of the 7 man rotation? yes.

But I will say this, in regards to the 7 man rotation. Perhaps with the directive of "playing with pace and force" for longer minutes and for Harden (playing post defense), perhaps the team wasn't mentally prepared for dealing with that burden.

It is possible, that with the team experiencing that game, that it now allows them to "re-calibrate" their expectations and how they operate energy-wise throughout the game.

The team can look at the tape, see WHY they failed, and re-calibrate and re-adjust.
