I got your back on the fact that questioning fandom is lame. We all have different ways to respond. Some knee jerk, some level headed, some homer but no matter what we all care.

I dig you and @omgTHEpotential . The only thing i disagree with here is questioning fandom

 

I have nothing against the people who are consistent with the commenting on our team regardless of the outcomes, everyone has a unique way to express fandom. It just that we do have dem btchy fans that just wait for Harden and co. to mess up just alittle to come out and blast our team. The other thing that pisses me off, that many of these fkers will never own up to their sht and disappear into the distance when our team is winning.

Regardless this site is the best place for Houston fans of all sports.

 

Well said. We are all fans and all care. Just seems irritating that some posters only show up when we lose.

I like the ones who happily eat crow when we win. Im one of those. I asked @DonKnock to line me up when i lost faith after game 3.

If rockets win then we all win and doubters should be happy to eat crow.

I only dont like the posters who care more about their personal pride than rockets team success

That was the frustrating part about it all. We could have and should have won that game, but gave it away.

 

I think tinman is the only one here who is allowed to question fandom, since he is a 99er and supposedly the 99er's stepped in to finish building the earth on the 7th day so that god could rest.

Oh, and what a wonderful exchange there between Fantasma and omgPotentials. This is legendary Clutchfans material and we should all sacrifice ourselves at the alter of the true Believers for having been a part of this.

 

Going of all of your posts that I've read, I think we are in the same boat. We agree that we are all rockets fans and in this together. we both desire and fear the same outcomes. There is no point in creating a divide between us. One of the things that I super dig about your posts is that you've always preached that there is no point in creating a divide between rockets fans. We both agree that elitism and saying other fans aren't on the same level or understanding of other rockets fans is very lame and condescending.

and about the 99ers, I understand and agree with exactly what you are saying but I'm down to play along now. the 99ers have been more inclusive, polite, and less cliquish towards me the past month or two. I think it's just a hazing thing. I spoke out against it perhaps too much early on. I kind of regret the paging tinman thread honestly. I'm down to just get along with everyone and root for the rockets at this point.

 

I have watched all most of the games this year, except when they were really late west coast games and I couldn't stay up for the whole game because I get up so early for work. Even during the horrible games, I watch them until the final buzzer. I never quit watching a game just because I don't want to see us lose. I am not a fair weather fan, nor a terrible fan when I complain on here. Sometimes venting in here with others who feel your pain is just a way for fans to vent. Do I agree with coming on here and saying I hate so and so? No, because if a player doesn't have as much talent as you would like him to have, it's not really his fault. I don't doubt for a minute that everyone isn't trying their best out there. Now do I agree with calling a player out for something they can change, such as not playing ISO ball, not watching the clock, not hustling, playing lazy ball, forcing bad shots, etc...? Sure, and that isn't a personal attack, nor does it make anyone a bad fan.

To hate on players personally is an entirely different story though. It doesn't help in any shape or form, and is very negative. As much as I might complain about certain things, I don't hate anyone personally, and don't like those kinds of posts. To me that is going too far if it is someone on your own team. I believe in positive criticism, with some venting, but not just being downright nasty about someone. The jokes and gifs are great, but only when not hateful about our own players. I really believe in my heart that this team can win this series if our coach rotates in guys from the bench, and our guys play the way we are capable of playing. Go Rockets!!!

yah my response was perhaps incorrect and out of place because it's hard to read the proper amount of satire and shade at points in text. Much easier to decipher that kind of stuff when you hear it. Either way, I think we all get it for the most part!

I was here before you and I will be here after you. Venting is fine and understandable. The incessant hysterical whining makes this site, one of the best team forums in existence, less enjoyable. You can express yourself however you like, but don't expect people who know better not to push back.

 

while there are plenty of threads that are hilarious as a life long fan, any upset comments I add are simple. We're losing to a lesser team, Harden being unable to finish, which is all he lacks from his game, the killer instinct and ability to slit the throat. Hey if they're tired too bad, you get paid for those moments, and I for one am not waiting for any of this to happen, I'm waiting for the opposite to happen, for Harden and team to finish and rise to the next level and that's obviously frustrating when it's right there and we give it away. Many of us aren't starting mindless threads cause we know how to use a keyboard, we're venting cause our team has to find its heart. Thankfully I've witnessed it with this team and still get goosebumps thinking about it, but they spoiled me with back to back rings, and I want it again, and I want it for Harden so he can ascend to the final level. Maybe losing a game like that is just what he needed, hopefully he has learned something from failure, cause if you do and grow then it's not a failure, even though it sucks for us fans.

 

I don't care, I just block the annoying ones. This ignore feature is the best thing clutchfans has made. You can clearly tell who are the ones who consistently have nothing positive to say. Even Swwygay tries to act like he's positive with backhanded (albeit witty) compliments. Some people instantly complain when its a missed shot, missed FT, bad pass ETC.
