    My idea
    Don't go on reddit

If there's a Popeyes on my block
Why would I go to KFC?

    Think about it

I appreciate that you're passionate about the team, but what are you talking about...? We are down 1 game, because the Nation's (and Reddit's) perception of the Rockets is they are floppers?

I go to /r/nba for some twisted backwards therapy or something... or maybe the opposite. The comments make my blood boil at times. The whole "everyone hates all stars" may be somewhat true, but most people get nowhere near the flack Harden gets. The Lebron hate days are over, and other stars are either ridiculed for being douchebags (Draymond) or for being terrible (Lamarcus).

Harden having an MVP calibre season has seemed to make people even angrier. Reddit NBA sure as hell doesn't hate on Brody like they do Harden. I remember in 2015 the subreddit had a vote and Harden and Dwight were voted the 2 most hated players in the league. I have no idea why, but they have always had a strong anti-Houston bias.

Reddit is great If you use a phone app like Reddit Sync. I'm on Reddit all day, but I'd never use it if the desktop site were the only way to view it.

Reddit is great for small niche communities where everyone shares a common interest. The larger subreddits are godawful, content is plentiful and then you go into the comments section and realize everyone is a r****d.

People always say this, but its structured just like a forum is structured with the only difference being that comments are structured as trees rather than by post date.

The UI sucks I agree, and they are refactoring their codebase as a result.

I'm glad to hear I'm not alone. I kinda gathered that it was a tree format, but I still can't manage to navigate around. Reddit can blame me, I guess, for not being with-it enough to figure out their system. Since it seems millions of other people have figured it out, it is probably me that's the problem. Still think it sucks though.

I don't think the tree UI is problematic as much as the "downvotes erase comments". It's really bad for truth seeking as one side of an argument will always be totally shut down. What ensues is a collection of posts that all agree with each other, whether they're right or wrong. If they could sort comments by total votes rather than net upvotes that would be much more equitable. You would see posts that people have the most reaction to in either direction. Say what you will about groupthink but it almost never arrives at the right answer.

Reddit as a whole has an extreme liberal bias.

As such, default subs tend to behave the same way. That is: erratically, and very much "what have you done for me lately?"

Just go into r/politics and read for 5 minutes. It's a shitstorm of confused adolescents that are being manipulated one way or the other.

People here like to see Reddit as a joke and it's really not.

/r/nba has over half a million Subscribers and national media like ESPN often use user created content from reddit as their own articles.

There are even reports that GMs & management browse reddit to see how their fanbase would react to certain trades.

As of now, because of under-representation on the NBA reddit, Rocket fans are seen as the "worst" fans in the league for supporting a "fraud" like James Harden who is a free-throw drawing "flopper". It's been like that since Harden arrived in Houston, got worse with Howard signing with us (because of the LA hate). It's died down a bit this year because no one expected us to end up with the 3rd seed but obviously, it's back during the playoffs because of the national attention and Harden drawing fouls with his "flops".

There was a thread just a couple days ago with 15 thousand upvotes calling Harden's foul-baiting a disgrace to the game of basketball and right after that thread came out, the next game Rockets were suddenly getting shafted on every call and Harden wasn't able to draw any fouls (game 2&3).

People here probably don't take reddit seriously but the truth is, NBA watches reddit constantly, they've even given shoutouts to them on TNT.

Again, the entire reddit system is based on upvote and downvotes. With the under-representation of Rocket fans, our own fans get **** on constantly in that forum. It'd be great if we had more Rocket fans there upvoting our own fans comments but I'd doubt that would happen because it's clear that most people here would rather hide here on CF where it's "safe" than post their opinions there.

Also, CF wonders why National Media never mentions us on TV or why WB is more loved than Harden even though OKC is a small market. Well it's because of sites like Reddit, where it heavily influences national media. Media members are simply afraid to side with the minority unless they are in a position of power like Bill Simmons or Stephen A Smith.

I guess in the end, it doesn't matter if you live in Houston and surround yourself with local coverage but for fans outside the country like me, I get to listen to ESPN **** on my favorite team and player on a weekly basis because EPSN, as well other national media sides with the majority.

I totally believe you, but I still don't really care. I'm not really going to go endure their shitty site so that in the long run the Rockets can get incrementally better treatment by the media and the refs. Not hiding from Reddit, since I don't even know what they have to say about the Rockets or Rocket fans, I just don't go there because of my dissatisfaction with their product. And Harden will comfort himself with his millions of dollars, so it's all good.

    Great post.

I wonder if our lack of presence on reddit is because we have this amazing alternative right here. No other team has such a great dedicated community forum like Clutchfans.

Speaking of reddit, this current post is kind of the common sentiment about Harden that has been described here. Does anyone else here think that Harden isn't really a flopper at all? He's not throwing himself to the ground a la, well, the Spurs (traditionally Ginobili, Patty Mills and Simmons recently). In my opinion, he actually draws legitimate contact. Even on the much talked about 3-point fouls, it's not a flop. His shooting arm is impeded by the defender.

    People have to relax.

You would rather be hated than not. If they hate you, it means you must be doing something right.

No one hates the Brooklyn Nets. People just feel sorry for them.

Can't have your pie and also your cake, soda , lolipop , extra servings etc. too.

I don't mean to slander or slight liberals at all. It's just that the demographic of reddit is literally younger, and the political views reflect that.

I'm on r/badeconomics every day :) I just think clutchfans is better for basketball talk.
