The person who will replace Jim Comey will be appointed by Trump and confirmed by a Republican Senate. That's a pretty small "leap" to make.
Especially given this is the same Senate that has confirmed DeVos, Pruitt, Price... and Sessions. Our only hope is that enough of the republican senators that have expressed concern, if not outrage will be guided by that set of ethics in considering Trump's FBI nominee. Especially when one recalls that the Senate confirmed Pruitt, Price, DeVos, and... Sessions. Our only hope is that enough of the republican senators that have expressed concern if not outrage will be guided by that same sense of ethics when considering Trump's FBI nominee:
Yes, they dole out resources, but they are not investigators, that was my point. The current Democrat talking point is that Comey was fired "becuase he was getting too close", which suggests he was an investigator. So now the paranoia is that the new FBI director is going to come in and take people off the case and shut down their funding? Is that it? Kind of a reach don't you think? I get the desire to use any opportunity to bash Trump and to be honest, I've never been a fan of his either so I get it. The problem is that you are making yourself look ridiculous which will make people not take you seriously in the event that you have some legitimate concerns.
I know we would rather have Bobby's endorsement of the obvious, but in this case, we can look to actual, you know, FBI employees. "I think he got rid of him because of the Russian investigation. They are trying to circle the wagons," one agent told CBS News. "He wants his own man on there." It simply passes the Occam's Razor test with flying colors. I'm not seeing what I want -- I'm see what is in front of my face and terrible to see. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/james-comey-fired-fbi-director-response-democrats-republicans/
Eh, it seems a lot like you are just seeing what you want. Anyone can find an unnamed source to say whatever they want them to say, it's not really that impressive because there are unnamed sources saying the exact opposite and every other possible opinion. Anyway, good luck on the search for Trump's birth certificate.
This has been my problem from the beginning of the Trump administration and spans just about every subject of conversation. It stems in large part from the Russian meddling, but also Trump's own integrity. I have no trust or confidence in Donald Trump. So I view everything he does with suspicion. He might have, really and truly, coordinated with a Russian covert op to undermine a presidential election. If we can have a trustworthy FBI investigation conclude and say Trump wasn't colluding with Russia, I could let it go. Now we can't even have that. Why should I put an ounce of trust in him or any of his appointments?
It's the same idiot that appointed Rick Perry to Energy, Devoss to Education, and that pyramid as a grain silo weirdo Ben Carson to HUD. It's a small leap to consider Trump the most incompetent President in history.
The person who is currently replacing Comey (a lifelong Republican I might add) is Andrew G. McCabe. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_G._McCabe So essentially this guy is a Democrat who now is running the FBI. Keep leaping!
This is just the new "Obama is a Muslim" or "Obama is a communist" argument. I guess we'll have these kinds of things every presidency from here on out. Sadly, this is the new normal.
Temporarily. They've already stated that McCabe is going to replaced soon, so I'm not sure what point you think you're making here.
If they had, investigated it, would it make it more valid? Until there's something, anything, concrete that suggests Trump is a Russian agent or whatever the current fairy tale is, it's no different IMO. They both stem from partisan hacks that can't accept that someone they don't like won an election they wanted them to lose.
So true - Multiple Obama officials were fired, Investigated, and subpoenaed for lying about their contacts with Obama's Muslim contacts.
Just wait till that birth certificate shows up.... You guys are embarrassing yourselves and you don't even realize it.
Why would McCabe being a Democrat make people feel any better or dfferent? First, he was appointed by Comey, not by Trump. Second, and probably as such, he is in a very very temporary role as "Acting FBI Director"... and Trump is already looking to replace him with an "Interim" FBI Director, who will then be replaced by a formal FBI Director nominee.
Do you think for even one moment if the investigation was anywhere close to confirming what the left is claiming that this guy wouldn't nail Trump down? He's about to testify in front of the Senate next week in place of Comey as it is. Trump could have had Comey's replacement ready today if he wanted just as Bill Clinton did when he canned Williams Sessions and the next day introduced Louis Freeh. If Trump attempted shenanigans, I'm thinking McCabe would resign immediately and scream to the world what he knows. Of course, all of this would assume the FBI investigation had uncovered anything substantial which to this point we have little indication it has. In the meantime, we will have a confirmation hearing in the Senate where Dems and Reps will have their chance to ask the nominee questions.
