Well Dallas has a much better OL, Dallas was already a very good offense, we were one of the worst, if not THE worst offense last year. Not to take anything away from Dak, but he want to a very talented team that made it easy for him. That won't be the case here.
Well our OL will be better than last year and most of the bad offense can be contributed to Crock being a terrible QB.
I'd be willing to bet our offense would have been a lot better if Romo was running it. not exactly the best comparison.
I hope our OL is better but I am not so sure. And under O'Brien our offense has never good. Also Dallas didn't just have a good OL, it was elite. We have good playmakers too but not Dallas level.
A good offense? I don't think so. A good line, yes. But not offense. They were #22 I yards and #31 in points. The biggest difference maker was Ezekiel Elliot. Foreman has the potential to add a whole new dimension to the Texans running game. Aside from the cowboys O line and the Texans D, the situations ade very similar.
Yes, if Foreman is able to instantly be one of the best running backs in the league, the situations would be similar. Lamar Miller was "productive" as a running back last year, but his actual stats were nothing impressive. Broken tackles, elusiveness rating, yards after contact, yards per carry, yards per catch, etc. were all pretty much below average to bad. Our offense was BAD.
I'm biased because I've been watching Foreman since he was at Texas City and the past 4 years at Texas, but I strongly believe he's going to be productive at the NFL level. It can't be said enough how much weight he takes off of Lamar Miller's shoulders with his complementary abilities. I think he could end up being better, but I would be thrilled if he just produced as a powerful runner in between the tackles.
Dallas offense was 22nd before Dak and 5th after Dak. I remember the year before the Peyton the Denver O line gave the most sacks. The year he got there they suddenly became the best. Dallas does have a good OLine, but I think building through the OLine thing is nonsense. We need some money ball people in football.
LOL Yeah I'm not expecting Foreman to be Zeke (though it is not impossible) but I'm expecting him to add a new dimension to the running game that would have a huge impact with the running game. If we can have something like Foster & Tate - the good year (or Blount & Dion Lewis); this offense is going to be much better. Lamar wasn't productive because he was asked to do what he just shouldn't be doing. He wanted a full load and they gave it to him but I think now he realizes he needs to stick to what he does best. Pound Foreman down the middle between the tackles when Lamar Miller takes a breather. Put him in goal line situations when all you need is one or two yards. He'll get them for you. You think the Texans offense was bad last year, I think the Cowboys offense was worse in 2015. They went 4-12 for more than one reason.
All Foreman has to do is make the red zone plays when we need them. Easier said than done, I know, but I think that is where he will be most effective. That alone will solve a huge part of our offensive woes.
