Not sweating a 2-1 loss on the road in a game where we had 9 hits. McCullers was a stud tonight. We'll get 'em tomorrow!
Astros are in almost every game which is winning. At its pace, we will top the division for sure. Some team will hand us a top notch pitcher by the trade deadline
what are the analytics behind us having more dps than an adult film actress? I noticed it in 2015 some scoffed at the notion. Now it's apparent we lead the league. It has to be a combination of a huge amount of ground ball pitchers in our Division and the aggressiveness of our bats when they're awake? No fish again for the angels today, "day to day" according to their twitter. Though if Valbuena continues to hit like 2016 valgoodness, they don't need trout.
I still don't understand why Ben Stiller would tell Casey Affleck it's a code Black instead of letting him continue to think it's a code blue in Tower Heist. And that's the type of stuff the Astros should be thinking about more after a loss like this.
A combination of a lot of traffic and striking out less. Aoki has grounded into 7 of the DPs. Last year that would have been Rasmus striking out.
Bregman has 6. He's hitting a ton more grounders this year, with weaker contact. ETA: Altuve has 7, he's had 15/17 the past 2 years. He's on a pace (w/similar PAs to have over 40 this year). Springer's on pace to at least double up on his career high 12 from '16; Aoki a career high 39 (9 previously). That's as far as I looked, and I did those numbers in my head so don't quote me on that.
Springer never had anyone on to GIDP last year bc 7, 8, and 9 sucked last year. I'll take gidps over strikeouts any day. At least there's a chance for something good to happen.
Why is Marisnick in LF tonight? Usually with this trifecta, Reddick moves to LF and Springer to RF to accommodate Jake in CF.
Just a cursory look: he had men on base in 280 PA in 143 G last year, this year he's had 43 PA in 21 games. That seems similar. Like I said, haven't looked into what bases and what situations. I'm not ****ing with Excel on a Sunday. Springer: 49.3% GB last year, 52.4 now. Aoki: 60.8, 65.6 Bregman: 28.2, 50 Altuve: 48.7, 56 Correa: 51.5, 43
