Congrats to Mike Dan Tony! Hope this takes away from the pain of being exposed by Popovich.

No, but I think they had the second best record in the NBA for the second half of the year...starting exactly at the 42nd game.

    They went 30-11.

And to this day, some at cfnet still point to our loss to them in the midst of their League best 13-Game win streak as sign that we suck, and are exposed...as is often typical of fans who don't keep up with the rest of the NBA. Fine to say that at the time, but not in retrospect to what Miami did.

I understand that he is being celebrated for having a great record in the second half of the season, but shouldn't he also be blamed for starting so badly in the first place?

As much respect that I have for Spo's achievement in the 2nd half of the season, I think he does not deserve to get any best coach award. He was the one responsible that got the heat into one of the worst record in the first half of the season. This is the coach of the year, not the coach of the 2nd half of the season. You need to give more respect to a coach that has been doing it all year long.

D'antoni deserved it. Hell, i would prefer Brad Stevens ahead of Spo.

Seriously. Reminds me of high chools that bestow the title "valedictorian" on everybody that gets above a certain GPA. Maybe, next year any coach with a winning record can be co-coach of the year.

this is why Russ will win the MVP besides the obvious triple double. Russ had a string of comeback wins and great games in the last part of the season while Harden was bumming around with his bum ankles. People remember what happened recently more than overall of a whole season

And D'antoni deserved the award way more than Spo.

The only rules that really matter are these: what a man can do and what a man can't do. For instance, you can accept that Pippen was a Houston Rocket and a good man or you can't. But he is in our blood now so we'll have to square with that some day. And as for D'Antoni, for example, we can let him drown, or we can let him bring this ship to the championship all by our onesies, savvy? So, we can sail under the command of this offense, or we can drown. And I am choosing to sail.

That's a good question. I thought the media voted for Coy? It just says the coaches association voted for this one.

Hands down deserves it. I rarely question him compared to Mchale.
