Rangers are down 8-1 if that makes anyone feel better.

Should have never brought Devenski in, he's given up a run in like 3 games now. Am I doing this right?

S**t happens, pitchers aren't perfect. This L is really on the offense for being unable to score more than one freaking run despite a lot of traffic.

Win tomorrow claim the series, no sweat.

He would clearly have beat the throw. Not cutting it off would have lead to a bouncing throw to third base. Not cutting it off would potentially have allowed Pujols to get to second. it was not a bad decision to cut it off.

Meh, I think it was worth a shot. Pujols run didn't mean as much as Calhoun who was the winning run. Would have been different if Astros were up 1 then yes cutting off is the right call.

Pujols at first maintains a traditional DP.

I'm a bit bothered by the fact that the Astros let a great road start from Lance McCullers go to waste.

They've stolen quite a few games this year... I suppose tonight, baseball decided to hit back like the jackass it is.

Would have been nice to have this one since we are trotting out whiffle ball fiers next.

Damn, we had 0 outs with all that action? Devo really screwed up.

Should've walked the bases loaded, forcing a force at every base like another poster said.

The way the inning played out showed that a DP would have ended the inning.

Possibly with Valbuena striking out. Just looking at it live looked like possibly it was worth a try to try and get Calhoun especially with the throw coming in from left field. Doesn't matter now. Walking him was killer anyway by Devo

I was half-expecting an IBB after Devenski got Valbuena for the first out to set up for a force at any base.

It looked to me like that last pitch to Calhoun which walked him was actually a strike. Maybe the ump didn't want the game going into extra innings again.

I definitely don't think it was that clear... besides, that's the only runner that mattered.

4th time Correa has failed to drive in a guy from 3rd with<2 outs in a 1-run loss.

By not waking Valbuena, the inning played out just fine since he struck out. Portable was the weak chopper. Just a bad break.

I remember a number of posters last year jumping all over Hinch when he did walk the bases loaded.

Just playing the odds. I suspect he asked Devenski if he wanted to go after Valbuena. Leaving a base open also allows him to throw off the corners and outside the strike zone.

We should have put in Giles!!!!!:mad::mad:

McCullers did pitch a great game though. I was bound to be right about something in this thread ;) I thought the decision to pull him was fine. We need him in the postseason.
