I'm still very bummed about this loss. I think the Rockets had great intensity to start the game, and Harden was sensational tonight. The problem was our bench really let us down. It's been a huge advantage this post season but definitely not tonight. We just need everything to hit on all cylinders in order to beat this team. They are very consistent on both ends of the floor.
What's gimmicky about efficiency? You are confusing execution with something else... I'll just copy and post what i did in your knee jerk thread.... "Settling for contested or pull up 3's isn't MDA... the same crap kept happening with McHale too... The ball gets sticky and then everyone thinks they are Harden and start taking difficult shots trying to shoot us back in. We haven't been figured out... we just aren't executing our offense."
They aren't a superior offensive team talent wise. to the rockets. They are superior in almost every other way though.
The spurs get by on bailing wire, talent wise, they are not a talented team individually. What they are is a WELL RUN DISCIPLINED TEAM..... We are not. DD
Wait... the top defensive teams are good at defense.... Well we matched a contract to a 7 foot "post" player but he decided some sort of minimum contract would be in his interest. He doesn't seem to have much "post" left in him anyways.
We did not match, we let him walk for free - we matched then pulled it back.....if we would have matched, we have a better chance to win tonight. We have NO plan B. DD
No, we did match the contract and even matched stuff we didn't have to. Clearly DMo taking the minimum was our doing... I guess people still cling to DMo's 2/3s of a good season as some sort of savior...
Harden's problem is that he is poor pg, but a great scorer. Controling the pace of the game is nearly 90% of winning basketball games. Making good decisions, playing defense. Harden is a fantastic scorer, but that's all he is. He can't hold a candle to chris paul or mike conley running a team.
LMA had to comeback. Poppovich is clearly the better coach. No doubt even if he loses this series. MDA has always been a coach who seems to be like God when his teams shoots the other team out of the gym. When things are not going his way, he looks like a normal guy not knowing what to do.
Me thinks we have not been a disciplined team since the JVG and Adelman days and back then we were either lacking on Offense, role player talent or lacking in luck. Injuries happened. We came back against the Clippers once because the bench brigade and Josh Smith made it happen literally and figuratively.
Harden can be better at dictating the pace of the game, but it's been a problem all season and I don't think it's going to change. I think the officiating has something to do with it as well. if they are calling it tight right from the start and then you can be aggressive, but if they are not calling it tight then you have to be very careful and not make mistakes or force anything up or look for contact.
Meh. He obviously isnt a poor PG, that's just silly. Considering our historic offense and almost best ever total points prdouced by a player (Harden) I think the issue is more execution and focus.
Playing pg, is way more than just how many points your team scores. It's about making the other team uncomfortable, does harden make the other team's offense uncomfortable with the way he runs his team? I don't think so. Harden is a great offensive player, no question, but it takes more than that.
People keep saying just make those 3 point shots. How? They are being guarded. We are a gimmick team. It's time for heads to roll and I want Morey the **** outta here. Also want Tad Brown **** out too for failing to make TC great again and for getting rid of flash seats
