he was 3-17 in game 2, he sucked balls.

i mean they are the #1 defense in the league. they have elite perimeter defenders and 2 7 footers at the basket. and a coach who knows defense and can get his players to do what he says and be disciplined. they can knock you off the line and still guard you at the basket. that's very tough to do and have the personnel to pull off. there's a reason we hate mid-range shots. because almost no one can make them at a high rate. even floaters from 7 feet that don't seem that difficult like we've taken in games 2 and 3. pau has always been good at using his wingspan to just go straight up at the basket. not a lot of teams can do that. and that's after you've had to beat kawhi/green just to get there.

and some of the lack of success around the basket is just bad luck. we're shooting horrendously near the basket. it felt like harden started figuring out how to finish in the 3rd and 4th. the last 2 games he's been slowing down and trying to go over. in the 3rd and 4th he started exploding at the end of the drive and gasol couldn't even get up to contest. and it also helps a strategy when ryan anderson is getting open corner 3's and bricking them. even the spurs great D has given us some shots. if they don't go in, they we definitely aren't going to win. you can't be built on 3 point shooting and spacing the floor and then win if that's just going to go to crap even on open shots. because obviously the spurs have us beat in other areas,

 

I don't understand this logic. All we have to do is win 3 games. It doesn't matter when or where. If they're going to get these calls in our house, there's no reason for me to believe the same can't happen at their house for us.

Welcome to my world! Morey's been around for 10 years now and he's run through coaches and players and the more things change, the more they stay the same although I have to give him a pass on D'Antoni because that was Les' call all the way. Going into this series, you just had to know that Pop had figured out the Rockets and had a plan in place to slow them down and stymie their offense. It's what he does. That's why I waited patiently to see just how MDA's system would fare in a close, pressure-filled series against an experienced opponent. And so far, I have been impressed by both teams. Game 4 on Sunday will determine this series and I expect it to be a war.

 

Ah, yeah, well, he is not consistent enough, and being good in a big loss is not really helping all that much.

His inconsistency is maddening, we WAY overpaid for him, and his limited abilities.

Yep, as I said we are NOT contenders..at all....we are a circus act, a team that can win by shock value in the regular season, but has no chance in the playoffs.

I have to take issue with you here. DD may be many things but he does NOT have a loser mentality. This guy has bled Rockets red far longer than you have been on this board and as such, he has earned the right to be emotional after a tough loss. Now, if you want to talk about fans with a loser mentality then let's start a discussion about MFFLs.

You are being a bit too harsh here but I get the gist of what you are saying. This team reminds me of those old Oiler teams that under Pardee & Glanville that ran the Run 'N Shoot offenses that looked great but fell apart when the pressure was on.

 

Good analogy, except Pardee had a defense.

I am not kidding this team is built to fool people, to win in the regular season due to teams not having time to prepare but will ultimately fall apart in the playoffs against elite disciplined teams.

I am normally right there with you but, more important than launching 30 some odd feet shots, his most important value IMO is his defense against Leonard and LMA...and in this dept., he is LAUGHABLE. One rebound tonight and 2 points in 29 minutes. Watch the highlights, 90% of the paint points came over him. He couldn't block a poot IMO.

 

I also remember the League ran the Run N Shoot out of the league . .. .
they did not like it . . . . .. so they made sure it did not work
What ever they have to do . . .a few refs to not make a few calls etc etc etc

Same thing happening with the Rockets and D'Antoni ball
