He will leave Houston very soon. I mean, he will be leaving Houston for San Antonio before Game 5 of the series, no? The whole team needs to leave Houston before Game 5 or else they'd forfeit the game.
I could see Harden, Lebron and Kawhi going to Golden State when their contracts are up. And Atentokounpo, Lowry, Jokic, many more. Why play for 29 useless teams when you can just team up on the most all-star heavy roster? Signed, Kevin Durant
This is Harden's team. I don't seem him leaving to become a third banana like Durant. OKC was suppose to be Durant's team but for lack of a better term is was too beta and allowed Russell to be the Alpha Durant is ok being the 3rd banana . . . . I don't think Harden is . . . not any more . . .. Cannot put that toothpaste back in the tube Rocket River
I know a guy who may or may not be in Harden's inside circle, and his response to this question would SHOCK you
We will be able to give him significantly more money than other teams so that is a big factor weighing in our favor.
he can become a free agent in the summer of 2019, so we have 2 more years before the extension he would've been a free agent next summer
He has a player option in 2019, so he will most likely opt out to sign a bigger contract. Don't want to sound pessimistic, but if he was planning on leaving, wouldn't it make sense to trade him soon, seeing as he only has two years left. I don't want there to be Durant, lebron, Howard situation where he leaves the team and we get nothing.
"if" is the key word...I don't believe he's planning on going anywhere he has a lot of power within this organization, he has a great relationship with the owner/head coach/GM, we play a style of ball that suits him perfectly, we can offer him more money than anyone else, and he has established himself here and could create a legacy for himself in Houston if he had refused to sign that extension and we had a repeat of the 15-16 season then having to trade him this summer or during next season's deadline might have been a real possibility, but we've had an amazing turnaround and I think he's here to stay
