So you'd rather use Devo today and ensure that he can't be used and Peacock would need to be called on in a potentially much closer game the next 3 or 4 days?

More failure with RISP. (Yes i know we hit .300 collectively). We gotta get better at getting runners in. Another xbh gets wasted.

looking like it may not be our day, that happens. However, if we get into the Rangers pen all bets are off.

Since I was still viewing this as a winnable game I would like to use the better pitcher. Since Devenski is rested, he should be the first choice in this situation. We all kniw Peacock and his 0.77 small sample era is fools gold. Devenski is rested so he should be the one.

I think this clearly shows that we need a starting pitcher to really solidify this team. You can't trust fiers and Musgrove esp down the stretch

Yeah we need McHugh back in the rotation. These comeback wins are nice but once you get to the challenging pens of the AL, gonna be tough.

I would give Musgrove 2 more starts to put it together. If he doesn't, send him down. We are in trouble if he is our best option as a 4th starter.

Rangers are throwing too much hair out there to win this game. Astros are about to go full steam engine late.

You're not bringing in Devo in the 5th inning down 3 runs. There are other guys on the staff that are capable of holding the score and need to be given the opportunity to do it. Peacock is one of them. Nobody is guaranteed a clean innning.

Devo will have plenty of work opportunities including potentially later this game. Too much rest isn't a concern.

I have no idea if or what pitchers call their own game vs the catcher doing it or even the dugout.. McCann is a hell of a receiver, I hope Gattis learns from him through osmosis if nothing else.

I agree he needs to improve. But what do you view as "putting it together" ? Over his prior 11+ innings, he had given up 1 ER (after the rough 1st inning in Tampa). He's young and will likely continue to have ups and downs. If he does something similar across his next 2 starts, that'll be good..and then he might have more blips. As a 4 starter who's young/with potential, I just hope there's more good than bad going forward. But he's already shown that he has it..

Oh hell yeah. Beltran is better hitting RH at this point, this is our chance to get back into it.
