Everyone in the NBA flops. I'm really disappointed the NBA doesn't have better "flop monitoring". The NHL has diving. I think a full time replay official is warranted. Flops severely cheapen the game.
This team really are flopping geniuses, its sickening. Mills, Gasol, green, and Ginobli all had clear flops....hey heres an idea Call the foul on them FFS to make this **** stop.
can anyone here imagine curry/durant/westie/lebron/kawhi ending up on the wrong end of a ref's call for that bullshit?
There is a difference between selling contact and throwing yourself on the floor because you are severely outmatched, swygal just hates harden and the rockets and uses **** to push his agenda because the mavs are going to be awful for years
Anyone else notice the refs trying to even out free throws at the end of the game? Or manu talking brothers into free throws? Phantom shooting foul on kawhi?
The flopping problem really is something the NBA needs to deal with. It's not just embarrassing, but it's a way of getting points or fouls on another player that may be the difference in the game. And it's not as if the NBA is in complete denial mode. They look at video afterwards, and they fine players for egregious flops. Ahh, fines: the most idiotic "solution" ever conceived in professional sports. The game is played by multi-multi-millionaires. A 5-digit fine game is nothing to them. They could reach into their pocket and pay it in cash during their winning press conference. The simple solution would just be to carefully review the film and then ban the guilty player from playing the next game. THAT would stop it in its tracks. The league will eject and ban players for two technical fouls or a Flagrant 2, but I'd wager that looking at and averaging over a statisically-significant number of games, you'd find that flops add or remove many more points than actual ejectable and bannable offenses on a much regular basis. So, NBA, just start banning for flops you'd normally fine for. As a player seeing that, are you going to try to tighten up your acting in hopes you don't get dinged, or are just going to start playing basketball? I suspect most will the choose the latter pretty quickly.
Everyone had to know that the Spurs would come out faster, quicker, and more aggressive...we also had to know that in Spurs country, hustle = flopping. It was all in full effect last night.
The flop came after this play, a bad whistle on a non-foul that gave James three freebie, and was a "make even" call.
The hook happened first, then the call on the Harden 3. You could maybe, MAYBE sell me on the fact that the 3 free throws for Harden was a makeup call. The officiating was just bad all around last night. The Spurs still benefited more in my opinion.
If you want a makeup call do it on the other end of the floor and don't get our MVP in foul trouble...that's a dumbass excuse
