No charges does not equal no wrongdoing. No charges means there wasn't enough evidence to bring charges forward.
A lot of people would be surprised at my opinions on that rash of police shootings On this one in particular, baton rouge maybe a state capitol but its a small town The cop and this guy had to know each other and therefore something about this case does not add up Not saying the cop was in the wrong but it couldn't have been just a random altercation
They probably did know the guy, he was a registered sex offender who had been arrested many many times before for theft, drug charges, gun charges, and several violent crimes.....he even had a previous incident where he was resisting arrest while armed with a gun. So yeah, I'd imagine most cops in the area knew about this guy because half of them had probably arrested him before.
Relax bro I'm saying the reason they knew him is because of his record But that doesn't make sense for an encounter to escalate like that
Then we're agreeing about why they knew him. I wasn't suggesting you were wrong, I was providing evidence that you were right. As to the escalation, when a guy is resisting arrest and a gun comes out, bad things happen. He had already gotten lucky with that once, he was less fortunate this time. When you are fighting with cops and they see you have a gun in your right pocket, and then they pull a gun and say "Hey bro, you move and I swear to god", and then you keep struggling to move your right arm down by your pocket.....well you get shot. In a perfect world, he doesn't fight with the cops and is currently doing 10-20 years hard labor for the crimes they were arresting him for plus yet another count of him illegally carrying a gun as a felon.
No charges were expected because Jeff Sessions now runs the DOJ. Trump and Sessions came into office with an agenda to stop this so-called War on Police, also known as protecting the civil rights of citizens. I'm not really outraged by not having charges. Back when this happened, I wasn't sure if lethal force was justified or not. I thought it warranted investigation and they investigated it. So I should be happy. Unfortunately, I no longer trust the motives of the DOJ. And I don't know if the choice to not prosecute is because of a lack of evidence of a crime, or because of an ideological choice to turn a blind eye to police misconduct. My apologies to black people that your fear of official oppression has just gone up.
Great post Juan. This was a difficult case even with the video I will reserve judgement on Trump's DOJ
Ya... you're the same dude who thinks there was no wrong doing in the Tamir Rice shooting. You are not anywhere close to reasonable in regards to this subject matter.
So in your mind not pressing charges against innocent men is "pushing people"? Well, that's one theory anyway, please don't buy a sniper rifle and move to Dallas.
