Correa holding firm in the clean-up spot. The Astros have had a lot of RISP in that position, I feel like McCann is more of a clutch hitter and in this lineup I'd consider him in the 4th spot (or heck Beltran) and bump Correa to the 6th spot. Also Gurriel in general should be batting 4th. Why not?

A sweep would be so sweet after winning the first 2 but 3 of 4 is a must now. We need to give the Rangers pay back for kicking our butts all last season.

Uhm... they're 18-9? Seems like a pretty forceful "why."

Nice. There's a huge discrepancy between DK's fangraph's WAR and Baseball Reference's WAR. He's put up 0.8 fWAR (tied for 20th) but 2.2 bWAR (2nd to Sale).

Best I can tell fWAR doesn't think highly of DK's future performance but bWAR loves DK's past run prevention.

Fangraphs' RA9-WAR is more like bWAR in that it is based focuses on run prevention and Fangraphs' fWAR tries to estimate run prevention in a context-neutral environment by looking at things the pitcher has the most control over. I like fWAR for short time periods (3 years or less). RA9-WAR looks better to me for longer data periods as there are somethings tough to measure in short time periods (contact management).

To be fair, he hasn't actually done that. From a predictive standpoint, it's not good, but so far, he hasn't really cost us any games.

He had 2 terrible starts where he gave up 5 runs - but we won both of those.

He had a mediocre start where he gave up 3 runs in 5 innings, which we won.

He had a mediocre start where he gave up 2 runs in 4+ innings, which we lost 3-4.

He had a good start where he gave up 1 run in 6 innings, which we lost 5-1.

He's made it harder on the team, but he hasn't actually pitched us out of a game. We've won the 3 starts where he gave up the most runs.

so therefore you can't still tinker with the lineup to maybe boost your star player's confidence and stop leaving runners in scoring position? I agree, if our offense has maxed out its potential, don't mess with it--but it is clear they can be much better on offense, and that is a beautiful and scary thought all in one.

Bregman also needs to get his **** together, way too many routine ground balls. He was elevating last year (and he said as much) and it paid off. Get back to that, coonass.

Last year GB/FB% .51, this year 1.33; Last year 1 GIDP in 217 PAs, this year 6 in 106

Basically, other Stros have had to take up a metric ton of slack as well as Fiers basically being untouchable with men on. To determine if a guy stays or goes, I'm sure the predictive measures as well as team confidence are all Astros care about. That said, Astros are very lucky he hasn't made games unwinnable without near double digit offense.

The rangers booth really annoys me. I don't know if it's the way that one guy's voice sounds or just their overall asshattery.

Didn't Dave Mlicki get the same injury as Hamels the year he was doing well back in the 2000s? He never really returned that season if I recall.

    Yes.

I'd love Reddick to push a bunt down to Gallo, see how he does moving in .

    I hate Joey Gallo.

Anyone else think Delino Deshields, Jr looks like Ken Griffey, Jr after overdosing on nerve tonic?
