I think its only April and May... and only weeknight games but Friday's count. 12 possible in May and only 2 are afternoon games I can't go to. $60 was definitely worth it. Also they send tickets 6 hours prior to gametime, and they want it to look packed so you get low good seats every time.
Fiers xFIP is 3.83 and his SIERA is 3.93. Typically these crazy HR/FB rates will equalize, so the Astros will probably give him a few more to see if that happens. The HR rate will certainly come way down, but that doesn't mean they won't become hard hit doubles. We can't just keep allowing him to pitch us out of games, and I've been one of his biggest supporters. It would be a huge help if he can pull it together and give that mid-low 4 ERA moving forward. Given our current lack of depth in the rotation we need competent innings.
If we weren't in Houston, maybe a couple of those HRs are outs so there is that for yesterday's game. It is so frustrating to watch Fiers. He mostly pitched a good game, but 4 HRs just can't happen. 1 HR a game is something you live with, but he is averaging 4.
Dallas had 1 more start, which I think boosted him, but yes, you can't beat what Santana's sick start looks like.
dallas should have 6 wins and 2 runs on his era came from bad defensive plays. maybe co-pitchers of the month.
I said it during his Cleveland start...pitch a simulated inning before the game, and pitch to a simulated batter before every inning. Luhnow and Hinch ain't got nuthin' on me.
He's the most frustrating Astros pitcher I've watched since the days of Tom Clancy, Chris Holt and Jason Jennings. Fiers can look like an absolute stud for an inning or 2, just teasing us (see the 5th last night), then he folds like a Kuppenheimer suit.
