Kyle Tucker is by far the Houston Astros top hitting prospect. Well...until Luis Robert gets sign by the Houston Astros. And foir those b#%*&ing about Jake Rogers bat, he is actually raking this season.

The most recent fangraphs podcast with Eric longenhagan had a short talk about Garrett Stubbs with a very interesting conclusion: that the Astros would likely end up trading him as a 2nd or 3rd piece in a deal this summer because he doesn't "fit the profile" of an Astros catcher. I thought it was bizarre to use McCann and Gattis as stereotypes of thick body catchers that the Astros prefer when Stubbs was drafted before gattis was used as a catcher again and before McCann was acquired.

I would think if he was leaving meat he would not be able to strike guys out like he has. 10.29k/9 plus a .448 BABIP points to randomness to me but I could be wrong. Maybe he has one pitch he can't locate and every time he throws it the batter hits it for extra bases.

I wasn't thinking meat pitches would be located the same as strikeout pitches. I was thinking more in line with your last sentence, but maybe not limited to one pitch. For instance, he could be a K machine down in the zone, but have a habit of leaving just a few too many pitches up in the zone. Or he could just have had some really bad luck with bloopers, bad defense, and an unfriendly scorekeeper. He could just be lucky and got a lot of Ks on guys expanding the zone.

I find things like this interesting in general...but more so because he's a lefty getting double digit Ks per 9 in AA. Astros could use a loogy. Emanuel is very doubtful to be this, but I am grasping at straws. I just don't think Sipp has it any more, and it doesn't look good that it will come back.

That sucks. He worked all the way up the minor league ladder to the "next man up" starter option and he has to deal with that. Atleast he got his cup of coffee first.

He hasn't pitched in a year, right?

He pitched 82 innings last year in AA. K rate was 6.31 per 9. Basically, he's getting 4 more strikeouts per 9, same number of homers while his GB% increased by 10 percentage points, and same number of walks as last season after returning from TJ. His ERA went up.

Thanks. I lost following Emmanuel a couple of years ago.

Jake Rogers is currently 3-4 with a solo homer (5) and 3 RBI for Quad Cities.

Enoli Paredes had a bit of a rough start but managed to right the ship; he allowed 2 runs, both in the 1st, on 3 hits (solo homer), walked 3, and struck out 8 in 5 innings. He didn't allow a hit after the 2nd.

Kyle Tucker just hit a solo homer to put Buies Creek in the lead in the 12th inning.

It's his 4th homer of the year.

    Welp.

Buies Creek lost 3-0, which spoiled their bid for a series sweep. Kyle Tucker went 0-3 but managed to steal a couple of bases, giving him 9 on the year.
