Austin-Travis County EMS said the stabbing happened at 1:46 p.m. Austin police said one person is in custody.

let me tell you how this works. When there's a picture that says UT Police identify suspect in custody as Kendrex White, 21, a student UPDATE: Witnesses say this is the suspect in the UT stabbing that killed one: that means that guy with the knife in the picture, in handcuffs, is the guy who is arrested.
Unfortunate help was not able to arrive and kill the guy before he killed someone. Those guys at OSU were really on the ball when they killed the Somali refugee stabbing people in 2016. No human deaths in that attack.
I was supposed to be right where the stabbing occurred, but I overslept and missed it by 5 minutes. Crazy. There was also a bomb threat at the communications building. Campus and the surrounding areas are ghost towns right now.
My oldest niece was working out at UT gym when this happened today but managed to get away safely. She had 2 final exams today that were cancelled as a result of what happened.
