Don't have the assets without breaking up the team, and apparently Paul George wants to go to the Lakers. Its confusing because they talk about how much Paul George wants to win and how frustrated he was about their 1st round exit...but he wants to go to the lakers...makes no sense...but whatever. Hayward should be target #1, but I'd be shocked if the Rockets were in serious contention. Might he visit the Rockets? Sure, but I don't think they'll get a serious look, kind of like what Melo did when he visited the Rockets but was only considering Chicago and NYK in reality.

Blake Griffin Is Pass his prime and is not the player he was !! I Injury prone and is not the player we are looking for.
He is barely big enough to go against the best centers, which is what we need!:p

Our chances with Hayward likely hinge on how Utah, Houston and Boston perform for the rest of this post season.

I think he goes 1. Utah, 2. Boston, 3. a small handful of teams that he'll give a meeting to.

Its a pretty clear top 2 teams. Its unfortunate the Rockets haven't ever been a great chance at free agents like this in recent memory, but its the reality of how NBA free agency works. Hell, players often demand trades and such, such as the Dwight Howard to Orlando deal which was LA just straight up fleecing Orlando simply because Dwight wanted to be traded...

Lol clutchfans going to pass on everybody for Hayward and Paul George, we aren't getting either.

Hayward will resign, George isn't demanding a trade to Houston not will we be anywhere near the highest bidder.

PG is the prize. If Morey could obtain him in FA without losing Bev, Ego, or Capela then we could actually start talking about potential championships. If he could find a way to keep Ryno as well then that would be great.

    Harden
    Bev
    PG
    Ryno
    Capela

    Ego off the bench

    bring on GS

I can see Chris Paul, Reddick resigning and Griffin leaving.

If Griffin doesn't come here, perhaps a deal can still be made...

    Capela and Anderson for Jordan?

Could be beneficial for both teams. Only thing is they need to change the hacking rule because Jordan's free throws scare the hell out of me.

I'd laugh at this -> if i'm Houston. No way i'd trade Capela and Anderson for DeAndre, hell, i don't think i would trade Capela or Ryan for DeAndre.

I agree, what exactly would DeAndre give the Rockets? better rebounding? (yes that's a need but still not enough for me) I don't understand why so many on here covet another "household" name when we already have the core pieces required for a championship team. A Gordon Hayward or Paul George would be the additions to put us over the top in my opinion (provided we don't lose our core rotation players......long shot).

Either that...or forgive me for saying this...the Rockets are one more ELITE PURE SHOOTING 3-point and D player away from winning the Chip. As many scorers and shooters that we have.....if we had just one more pure elite shooter (someone more reliable than Ryan Anderson), then that would do it.

I'd love to have DeAndre on this team, but not for that price. Capela is sadly already a better free throw shooter than DeAndre. And at least for another couple years, he comes at a much lower price tag.

Yeah, a couple of more boards per game for 20 millions more on the salary cap...i get that Capela is going to get paid too in a year, but i'd still keep him over DeAndre at this point since he is 6 years younger, room to grow, already better free throw shooter (he'll no loger be hackable at some point), better iq, better contract situation and yeah, nobody is going to throw him same/more money than what DeAndre is getting -> unless he'll come up really big next season. DeAndre seems like a nice guy and he's from Houston but that's it. If you want a bigger guy or a bigger name in the spot just wait for Boogie to be free agent. No reason to spend assets to get DeAndre at this point.

    Exactly.

"Sources inside and outside the organization have told The Times that the Clippers hope to re-sign Paul for the maximum deal. The sources requested anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the situation.

Paul, who had just 13 points in Game 7, said “No, I haven’t,” when asked if he had given any consideration to his contract option.

Griffin’s contract for next season is for $21.3 million, but the power forward can also get a better salary if he opts out.

Signing a maximum deal with the Clippers would net Griffin $175 million over five years. Another team could offer a four-year deal worth about $130 million.

The Clippers and Griffin hope to work out a maximum deal, according to NBA officials who were not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.

J.J. Redick will become an unrestricted free agent when the season is over. He earned $7.3 million this season and is looking for a big pay raise.

Redick, 32, could get a deal from another team for $18-$20 million per season, and that may be too high for the Clippers to swallow, meaning their shooting guard would walk, as most NBA officials expect him to do."

Hayward or bust this offseason. I still don't know why people want to sign a 32 yo Reddick. He will command way too much money for an aging role player that can't create his own shot. The Rockets have to be careful with who they spend their money on. The only way we'll be able to get a star is through free agency, we don't have the assets to trade for one. We can't be using up all of our cap space on dudes like JJ.
