Most Rockets fans up here are loyal to the city of Houston. Most of them, like myself, were born and raised in Houston but just moved up here for UT and then stayed after they graduated. Most spurs fans here in Austin aren't even from San Antonio. They just hop on the bandwagon of the team that's won the most over the past 10 years. The spurs fans that I know who are actually from San Antonio tend to be a lot better than the bandwagon fans around here in Austin

I think the trend continues from the regular season in terms of Hardens play. He did pretty well against SA. Harden also struggles against okc in the regular season and while improved actually in the playoffs didn't have that easy of a time. The Spurs and pop know they can't play Leonard the whole game on harden like okc can with Roberson. Houston would prob prefer that. Because it would make the Spurs beat player less effective on the offensive side of the ball. Houston can win with harden getting 20/6/6 on 40% shooting Spurs cannot win with Leonard having those type of game. And I know Danny Green is a good defender but when did he become this harden stopper. Who made that up???? Harden has never had any problems with Danny green. And as good as Leonard is while still effective he doesn't defend harden as good as Roberson. I want to see harden take less three point shots unless their wide open or he's rolling. Get the other guys off. The first three games of the okc series he was shooting less threes a game like 7-8 attempts making about 3. And he was shooting around 49% from the field and 35% from three which is ideal when your avg 39 ppg and shooing 90% at the free throw line. We need that harden this series. It should be much easier for him to finish around the paint against the Spurs bigs. We need relentless attack mode harden. I think that's who we'll see. James is on a mission this year. Spurs in 6 at worst. I just don't have the confidence in Hardens history and games 2-5 against okc. Would love to eat roasted crow though
Once again, we have the talent to beat them on paper and they do too 7 years ago. We beat ourselves by restricting our offense to a fantasy stat philosophy that leads to a predictable gimmick team and don't exclude our 40% effort played.
People talking Kawahi on Harden, everyone forget or don't understand how low-key great of a defender Danny Green is. He'll give Harden fits. Love my Rox but do not have my hopes up. Hopefully I'm wrong.
here's how i think it will go: game 1 - spurs win, rockets time off causes them to have a sloppy game. game 2 - spurs win, kawhi hounds harden and their role players play better at home than ours on the road game 3 - rockets win, MDA adjusts to get harden better looks while their role players cool off on the road game 4 - rockets win, pop adjusts to slow harden again but our role players get hot at home. game 5 - spurs win, blow out as they take their game to championship level to win a pivotal game. game 6 - spurs win, close game but their execution beats ours. IMO the key to the series is stealing game 1. if we do, i think the rest of the games play out the same way, except game 6 and 7 could go either way depending on who gets hot.
I said Rockets in 7. I expect that our guys will have at least one game without their heads screwed on right. That's just par for the course for the Rockets. I think around game 4 or 5, though, the urgency to not lose this series will finally be rooted in our guys' heads, and they'll be able to play at the level they need to overpower the Spurs. I just don't expect them to play that way the whole time.
Not getting my Hope up. Weird, but naturally just have a calmness in me. I'm leaning more towards us losing, but also have a feeling that the Rockets can win this series. It's weird. Never felt this way ever against the Spurs....
Our record against the spurs could easily been 4-0. We blew double digit leads against them and it still came down to the final 2 possessions. If the rockets stick to the gameplan they should win it
100% correct. The rockets have been the better team for the first 3.5 quarters of every game this year with the Spurs. Sure you have to give SA their props for closing out 3 of them late but with that said I like our chances. No matter what the media or ppl here want to say the Spurs did not look good against a bad grizz team. Rockets would have mopped the grizz off the floor. They won 43 games for a reason. Do I think Houston will win the series? Absolutely, I think we have more talent overall. But the Spurs are still a good team and it would not surprise me if they won either. If we win Monday's game I think we take the series in 5 tbh. The Spurs imo are built to look much better than they are in the regular season through perfect execution and discipline. As bad as the rockets were last year we actually have more playoffs wins than they do over the last 3 post seasons, Who would have thought? Maybe I'm wrong but I do think the Spurs get overrated because of what they have done the past 20 years and rightfully so. But they are not the Tim Duncan era spurs. Leonard is the man but I don't see any prime Parkers Manu's on that team. I see old Gasol who can't even get more minutes than David lee!!?!?? I see them with patty mills being there second best perimeter player and a clearly ages lamarcus who is slowing down and looking like he doesn't quite fit into the Spurs system as well as he and they thought. There good but there not the Warriors they can be beat and beat quite easily if we play the right way. The rockets are the better team. Have some faith in your team guys this is a rockets site not espn or bleacher report. We can be homers. Nothing wrong with it.
dude media guys are picking the rockets for those same reasons that you said... it's making me nervous. jalen rose said if harden does harden things and our 3 point shooters get hot then rockets can blow the door open in game 1... too many media guys are actually picking us lol
