Great fit. Just has to move to the other locker room in that stadium as he practices there already. He's already friends with Big Ben and Leveon. Basically the Pittsburgh version of Foreman to the Texans. He grew up two hours from Pittsburgh, played college at Pittsburgh and will be a Steeler. I even comped him to Bettis.
It is a poor o-line draft at the top of the draft, but the middle round guys are similar to those in any other draft.
Safe bet Texans take a RT with one of their 4th rd picks. Wheeler, Holden & Davenport are quality starters on the board. Faves for Day 3 Picks: Desmond King, S, Iowa Corn Elder, CB Elijah Qualls, NT, Washington OR Carlos Watkins, NT, Clemson. Nice depth to backup Reader. Eric Magnuson, G, Michigan OR Dorian Johnson, G, Pittsburgh OR Aviante Collins, G, TCU or Isaac Asiata, G, Utah. Could really upgrade the talent of depth amongst backup interior lineman. George Kittle, TE, Iowa (draft gem) OR Jordan Leggett, TE, Clemson OR Jake Butt, TE. B O'B loves two TE sets in his offense so carrying four TE's makes some sense. All three are probably upgrades over Griffin and Anderson in a backup role. Carl Lawson, EDGE, Auburn (could still greatly upgrade the depth at OLB with Scarlett (who's fantastic on special teams) and Tony Washington being the two on the depth chart behind Mercilus & Cunningham. Second rd grade. Nathan Peterman, QB, Pittsburgh. Unlikely but this is a QB with a late second/early 3rd rd grade considered to be the hidden gem of the QB class. I'll take him over Weeden anyways. Brad Kaaya, QB, Miami > Weeden Eddie Jackson, S, Alabama, Ben Boulware, ILB, Clemson, Riley Bullough, ILB, Michigan State. Projected 7th rounders that could battle for final roster spots
Jermaine Eluemunor is the guy I think they've penciled in. Roderick and Davenport are possibilities but I don't know if there is any interest from the Texans.
Seaton, Davenport, Asiata, and Gennesy are all guys still on the board who they worked out. http://www.scout.com/nfl/texans/story/1769946-brad-seaton-visiting-the-houston-texans http://www.scout.com/nfl/texans/story/1766393-texans-to-workout-julie-n-davenport http://www.scout.com/nfl/texans/story/1767370-tamus-avery-gennesy-to-visit-the-texans http://www.scout.com/nfl/texans/story/1769514-utah-s-isaac-asiata-works-out-for-the-texans
Good list. I'd prefer Weeden to either of those quarterbacks; need experience behind Watson and Savage. Jordan Leggett could be interesting as a way to help Watson settle in with familiarity and round out the TE depth chart. He also seemed to step up to better competition.
I think Kittle is the RE they want to draft. He is like an extra lineman that can catch the ball. Would be perfect for when Lamar wants to run on the outside.
They should just draft a couple of the BPA from the remaining B1G lineman. Those guys are usually great value.
I wouldn't mind Jake Butt, but we have other needs. Could be a BPA type pick. He would have been in the running for first round had he not torn his ACL.
