Yup. I would actually explore moving down and acquiring more picks if you don't like the OL available in the 2nd. Deep draft for corners and safeties.
You'd swap #2's and maybe give up your 4th and 6th or 3rd and 7th. I would go after Robinson or Forrest Lamp. Preferably Robinson. Or I would go after a guy like Bowers or Budda Baker. But I think if they were to trade up it would be because they wanted one of the top OL remaining.
I'm just hoping that we can solidify that right side of the ol avaible who do you think will still be around at our pick?
I don't think we can dick around with that position so I'd support trading up for Cam because not getting our young QB's killed is THAT important.
It'll be interesting to see where he goes. Top few teams in the 2nd have bigger needs than OT at the moment.
yeah that's a good point. It'll all depend on how high they are on Cam. If they're not too high on him then I can see them waiting til 25 (2nd round) and taking one then.
Has there been any talk on why he has fallen in the draft both Robinson and lamp were expected to go in the first round correct?
I'd tale the approach that the second round is like the first round... if there is an OT we like/want, we trade up, and make sure we get who we like.
Well with Cam, a huge part of why he's fallen has to do with him being seen as a RT prospect instead of a LT prospect.
Outside of us and the Broncos, a lot of teams had bigger needs. Think there was a lot more talent at other positions to be had in the 1st.
I want to see a video of draft war room when Mahomes got picked... just to see BOB's reaction and if Watson was settled on or who they actually wanted. I could see both. I mean Mahomes seems to look the part and had the bigger arm, but I honestly thing Watson could take BOB's coaching better.
Did you watch Clemson play with Watson? His deep ball is pretty accurate, and he's quite mobile. His ball velocity might not be eye popping like Mahomes', but he can get the ball where it needs to go with plenty of speed.
OL is almost always a priority; I could see any of the teams from Seattle down snagging an OL - especially if teams have Robinson with a 1st round grade. I would be shocked - but thrilled - if he slipped to 57.
I don't know how anyone can have an issue with the Texans repeatedly taking risks to solve easily the biggest issue with the team which is obviously QB. Every season where that position is not addressed is a waste is a total waste of time for the franchise and the fans. In Savage and Watson we now have two QBs to look forward to. Now I want to see the team focus on improving the running game and of course O-Line. I'm a biased Longhorn alum but D'Onta Foreman would be a great between-the-tacklers runner of the future, something that doesn't fit Lamar Miller's skillset. Miller, Foreman, and Watson would be a handful for defenses.
I loved the part of the 2 girls singing the national anthem last night where they get to "rockets red glare", you hear rockets fans in the crowd yell, and of course others join in obliviously. At an nfl event nonetheless. Awesome.
