Is this insider knowledge or just reading tea leaves?

Reading tea leaves I would believe. He won't be signing anywhere until later in the summer.

It came from his camp that he came down with the flu after the Astros private workout weeks ago. He then cancel other teams workouts. Where there is sdmoke there is fire.

He also rescheduled all his other workouts. So he will still workout for other teams. Although, I hope as much as the next Astros fan that he will decide to come to Houston.

Don't know much about the guy. Where would he fit in, and what kind of timetable would we be looking at??

Here's how I'd peg teams' odds of signing him based on what's out there:

    Astros 25%
    Padres 15%
    White Sox 13%
    A's 13%
    Reds 12%
    Cardinals 12%
    Braves 5%
    Nationals 4%
    Other 1%

BA said he'd be a 1st round pick if he were in the Rule 4 draft. He profiles as a good defensive corner outfielder with a decent chance to stick in CF. They speculated he would be assigned to full season A ball upon signing, which would put him roughly on the same timetable as Kyle Tucker, maybe a year behind him.

I don't understand this logic. If he felt a workout with the Astros was enough to make a decision on his future, why wouldn't he think the same of workouts with other teams. If you're signing a multi-million dollar contract, and you can't do it for another month, why not spend a few days doing workouts for different teams. Nothing bad can come of it, and it might just make you a lot more money, or maybe you'll fall in love with some other team as you did with the Astros.

If he's as good as advertised, I don't see how we get him. Just don't see us outbidding the LADs and NYYs of the league. Unless we go all in on Robert while everyone waits for Otani.

He's eligible for the '16-'17 signing period, which means most of the big market teams are unable to participate.

He is years from being a big leaguer.

He is the best of best of the young Latin players. He will need time but he has excellent physical skills and instincts.

Provided that he's cleared before June 15. That shouldn't be a problem unless something completely unforeseen occurs.

White Sox have lots of money and interest in him. I think they will emerge as the favorite to sign him. He is very impressionable kid but is considered a good kid; he will sign wherever his handlers tell him to sign.

I think you are off by between 2 and 8% across the board.

Why be a dick? I'm speculating based on the rumors that have come out. That's kind of what a message board is for.
