Silicon Valley CEO Pleads ‘No Contest’ to Abusing His Wife—and Is Offered a Deal for Less Than 30 Days in Jail

We have courts locking people up for years for smoking pot, and this guy gets to serve less than 30 days for beating his wife multiple times because they don't want to deport his ass? How is this judge allowed to do this? You figure he would get some heat after turner.

It's California, pretty much everything they do is backwards. You really can't expect much from them.

He actually got a 6 month term. California has a law that allows for jail alternatives for most offenses. These alternatives include house arrest, work furlough, and work programs where you do work for the county under the supervision of the Sheriff's department, usually things like picking up trash, cleaning graffiti, or gardening along roadways. California also doesn't send anyone to any form of incarceration for smoking pot. Even prior to the current legalization, it was only an infraction punishable by a fine.
