No one remembers Robinson MVP other than the fact he got torched by the real MVP Hakeem, the clips of those post moves from Hakeem abusing him is all that remains from Robinson MVP season. The same will happen to Westbrook years from now when all people remember is his team getting smoked by the Rockets and Harden in the playoffs.
Tired of listening to ppl who are comparing Harden and Westbrick to the Admiral and Hakeem. Both Hakeem and David played D and not just O. I think you could say they were a tier better than these two.
Westbrook would be the only MVP from a 10th best record in the league or worse. Literally the Least Valuable Player ever to win it
how "cool" can you be if you watch ball for a living and yet vote for a contrived, manipulated, arbitrary stats so yea he can suck a bag of dicks. honestly shouldn't even have a vote. he's not a former player, he's not a reporter, he's not an analyst, he plays host/babysitter for adult children. wth is the nba giving him a vote for?!?! I tell you, the more I find out about the voting process and the voters the stupider the entire process is. at this point any "award" that requires votes from unqualified, biased, petulant, voters is completely meaningless.
Dream also led his team to the title that year. That's what really resonates. If we get smoked in the 2nd round by the Sperms there's no way this will be viewed like the Dream v Robinson scenario
Also I am sure Harden cares about the MVP award still but he wont saying it openly. I am sure there probably is a clause at least in his Adidas contract (would be shocking if there wasn't) that if he won MVP he would get a large bonus. I am sort of disappointed Adidas hasn't done more to get Harden out there more late in the season as a MVP front runner. It would have helped their brand so much. Nike put out an amazing (IMO) of Westbrook right when he set the triple double record. All that being said - its been 1 game at home. Harden needs to watch film on what worked really well for him last night -- attacking the rim. I felt he settled for a lot of 3s last night, many of them were contested. If his mindset is to keep attacking the rim then he is going to be the best player in the series by a large margin.
westbrook going 8/23 with 9 turnovers and a 30 point blowout helps his mvp case? lmao wtf They just can't stand the foul drawing. He does it because his unique skill set. if you sag on him then he drains 3s, if you hug up on him then he gets layups so what's the answer? defenders slightly sag and reach out their arms on him. WHEN YOU REACH HE WILL TEACH. not his fault that he has a unique skill set that puts defenders in compromising positions. Lebron can get to the rim but can't drain 3s like harden. Curry can drain 3s but not get to the rim like Harden. It is harden's unique skill set that puts him in position for these fouls. haters gonna hate
