I know this thread is already in the D&D, but it's littered with arguing. I just want to read some stories, mayne.

    Give it to me brehs.

I have been fairly fortunate... my "worst" experience was during the time the company that relocated me to to Houston agreed to pay for four trips between Houston and San Jose to visit my family (they weren't able to relocate until my oldest daughter completed her school year). One of the trips was wiped out by a huge storm that caused the plane to land in Austin. They kept the plane on the runway for an hour or two because of active lightning and so a plane full of hungry and pee/poo filled passengers was miserable. Then when we were able to go into the terminal everything seemed closed (seems Austin's airport shut down at night). The next day I was able to fly to San Jose long enough to see them and then get back on a plane to fly back to Houston.

Other than that, the worst have been the normal stuff, flying with bad colds, pink eye, screaming/crying kids, and puking passengers in the same row.

Best travel experience? One time flying back from Hawaii with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers cheerleaders in the rows behind me. My wife wasn't that happy, but I even snapped a picture with them (the wife got rid of, so sorry, no pics to share).

Besides being stuck between two stinky obese people, I had the entire flight cancelled as there were not enough passengers. Instead of raging and carrying on at the time of the incident about how greedy the airlines were, I asked for compensation. I was giving a small voucher and they ended up putting me on a plane that got me to my destination earlier.
Otherwise I have been very fortunate.

A flight attendant opened a pressurized can of coke near me. It sprayed all over me in my suit before a meeting, and she dropped the can on me, spilling the entire can in my lap. She asked if I wanted some club soda to clean it.

I got scared because it felt like a 2 hour roller coaster. Never felt safe just sick and I confessed all my sins.

I once was super tired, fell asleep as soon as I got on the plane, and the refreshment cart passed by me. I had to wait so long to get my mini Coke.

I was expecting more customer service issues, but these are all great.

I just happened to be flying back to Austin from California during the bad flooding. One the way in it really started to storm bad. Outside was pitch black besides the lightning, and the worst turbulence I've ever experienced. We were just outside Austin when they found out the airports were shut down. We had to turn around and fly to Dallas (gross). Probably got into Dallas around midnight and had to sleep on the airport floor with a terminal full of upset people until the morning when flights resumed.

Side note: I was in California with my gf at the time, and had a plane switch in Las Vegas. I was going to spend the night there and party a bit, but my gf (who was not with me and got home fine on a separate flight) said she didn't want me to stay the night there. So I ended up sleeping on the floor in Dallas instead of partying in Vegas, which was just icing on the cake.

I've flown a lot, so I consider myself lucky that this has been the only notable incident.

5 minutes until arrival at Atl airport, the Delta IT system shuts down at the airport. My plane and several others had to wait on the tarmac for 3 hours. Got home about 1:30 am, should've been 10 pm, and still had to go to work the next day. Delta did compensate us with 20,000 points for the delay, which was nice and I already used it for a round trip.

Took a flight from IAH to Newark, NJ. Arrived at the airport with plenty of time to go through security and about an hour until boarding. Boarding time comes, and our plane still hasn't arrived. Gate attendant says there are mechanical issues so a different plane is being redirected for us. He says to expect an hour delay. Our plane arrives an hour later and I think we're ready to start boarding. Nope, this plane also has mechanical issues. Gate attendant says there will be more delays. An hour turns into two, then into three.

Keep in mind that I'm flying out of IAH. There have been three other flights from this airline that have already departed headed to the same destination. I'm beyond pissed. After about five hours of delays, the gate attendant announces that we'll finally start boarding, apologizes for the delays and says that they'd appreciate feedback by e-mailing customer service, basically implying to e-mail the company for a voucher. The flight takes off and I arrive in Newark 5 hours later than expected.

After my trip is done, I contact customer service. My e-mail was pretty stern and voiced with displeasure, but not to the point of berating the airline. I hope to get a voucher to at least cover the round trip. What did I get? An insincere "sorry your experience sucked" and no voucher.

    This was United, of course.

Having the main hydraulic system fail. Flying out over the Pacific to dump fuel. Landing at LAX on the backup system after they foamed the runway and had a stream of emergency vehicles on hand. And then believing Continental when they said they would arrange an alternate flight (once they determined they would not get a new plane in to take us home). They were no help and we had to do everything on our own. Finally getting home and seeing flames shoot out the engine as we were landing.

Flying United back from Chicago, I sat next to a very large person and it was the most uncomfortable 3 hour plane ride ever. I ordered so many drinks to try and compensate the distress I was in. I then had to see a chiropractor the following week, no joke.

Not exactly airline but had two customs officers on opposing sides of the building yelling at me to come follow them at the same time. When I just stood there looking back and forth at them they both just continued yelling some more like I was purposely not listening to their instructions. Took a few minutes before one of them walked to me and realized what was going on. This was back in the good old 9/11 makes it ok days, only 5 years after the tragedy.

+ TWA offered 3 options: a rebooking after 4 days or a refund or if I pay 750$ extra for a seat
    ..
I end up begging a cab driver to give me a ride for free, an Indian guy was my angel,he dropped me on 39st, walked to 42nd to the greyhound station, then to Ottawa where I had a freind
    (79.50$)ticket

*That was like 15 years ago,and I still regrets not taking the driver contact no.
    * It was my first time in Canada and decided one day I will move there, which I did.
*when I opened my heavy 2 luggage upon arrival to Ottawa,I found plenty of food my mom left it there .

Another time I was seated next to a group of Orthodox Jews. It was such a terrible experience. The problem wasn't that they were Jewish, but one of them accidentally dropped some chocolate pudding on my favorite white Puma's from his special meal. It thus ruined my very favorite shoes I chose to wear for the very first time that day.
