The bombs have already been paid for and are designed to be used. We've already built way more than we can use. Arguing about the cost is far from the point. The question is if it was effective in completing the objective and what the collateral damage was. We've been bombing **** for years but this represents an escalation from smaller more targeted weapons. There is a possibility that this was a great target and effective blow to ISIL.

I wonder what the Vietcong thought about the most unprecedented amount of non-nuclear bombs dropped on them and their network of tunnels.

 

Trump likes to bomb a bunch of whole lot of nothing.

 

Seems like a effective use of the weapon considering the mountains helped contain it. They said that area had between 600-800 active members but this strike only got 36. Still, collapsing their cave networks helps.

The problem to me is that Trump has removed himself from oversight.

 

Remember we just hit Syria with 59,000 pounds of freedom so I wouldn't overreact too much to the media hype of this particular weapon.
