Of course he wasn't making a joke. I am saying he was an idiot and wasn't thinking. I don't think that he is actually a holocaust denier.

I know if a Dem Press Secretary made the same mistake the right would jump all over Obama for it. But I just feel like this isn't that big of a deal in terms of the content of what he said. He made an error and apologized for it - people make mistakes.

The question to me is that should a White House Press Secretary make this kind of mistake given that the role is in part about not making these types of mistakes.

Sean Spicer Given Own Press Secretary To Answer Media’s Questions About His Controversial Statements

WASHINGTON—In an effort to ensure their messaging is being communicated to the public in a clear and transparent manner, the White House Press Office announced Wednesday that Sean Spicer has been given his own press secretary to answer the media’s questions about his controversial statements. “The remarks from the press secretary are being taken out of context, which is unfortunate, given the fact that he is in actuality trying to make very much the opposite point,” said Press Secretary to the White House Press Secretary Kevin Harrigan in his first briefing following his appointment to the role, whose primary duties include conducting supplementary press conferences after Spicer’s daily briefings in order to clarify and explain his comments.

“If you actually look at the evidence from all sides—the substance, if not the entire whole, is solid, which is what he was trying to articulate all along. And that remains true even if the media is trying to nitpick his words and promote their own message. I understand the point, but it’s clear what he was trying to say with the aforementioned statements—even the parts he was referring to—and, um, I’m sorry, you can’t just pretend otherwise.”

At press time, a contrite Harrigan was appearing on multiple morning talk shows to apologize for suggesting that if Syrian president Bashar al-Assad had a nuclear weapon, he might be the first to ever use one.

While the British did use chemical weapons frequently, I am not sure it was the top user in history. I also don't think the Rawalpindi experience count as the use of chemical weapons since they were experiments on Indian soldiers (it actually is worse and more racist than using chemical weapons on the battlefield). But it was during a time when chemical weapons were widely used by many many nations in an era of trench warfare where they were most effective.

Anyway, I am not sure why your statement is relevant at all to this discussion.

Perhaps Trump can exhume Churchill's body and make an example out of him.

p.s. While checking I had the correct spelling of Churchill's name I saw his wife was 34 years younger than him (uhm gross) and they also died the same year. tHe mOre Ya KnoW

Well you did answer something I was curious about it.
France used Algerians as their nuclear test lab arena
China used Ougiors for the same motives. Early 19s era wasn't known to highly regard human dignity, Hitler him self was one among many who used end to justify means . Most Black American soldiers were shot by their fellow whites than their enemies in battles , forced sterlazation/castrations on mental ,unhealthy, undeserible segment of the society were official policy to many nations including Japan .It wasn't an easy pick of who's the MVP of cruelty that time as many might thinks.

It could be said : WW II halted to large extent , The arm race of manufacturing "Super Population" internally among nations
    * taller, heavier, longer life span can be credited to the pioneer work of human experiment misery during that era ,traces of their work influenced to this day our daily nutritional intake and mandatory enrichment.
(The primery reason behind Iodine recommendation was based on the needs to increase the no. of people who fits US Military service draft)!!

But I think you're right ,it's not so relevant to the topic:) it's not like Saddam Hussein mustach wax but still

Just because horrible things were done in history doesn't mean they have to be tolerated today. If there is any reason to launch a military strike on another nation, the use of chemical weapons on children would be it. That's the bottom line.

Wow... seems republicans can't understand the rule... "never compare someone with Hitler". This time in an effort to defend the "traditional" definition of marriage. Don't think this will help that cause... but who knows.

A Southern lawmaker called Lincoln a ‘tyrant’ and compared him to Hitler

Someone has to be making a mockumentary in the White House.

    It's probably called: West Wig.

Jeffery Lord (common GOP pundit on CNN) puts foot in mouth by comparing Trump to MLK. It's like he didn't see the giant hole that Spicer fell into earlier in the week.
