Then, while apologizing, Spicer admits Trump is trying to destabilize Syria.

Perhaps you should send a letter to Pelosi's office to complain...

This latest incident of ignorance and idiocy just reinforces for the umpteenth time that Spicer is in way over his head and simply doesn't have the skills, knowledge, awareness, competence and cojones for the WH Press Secretary position. I don't get the impression that he's an evil, hateful guy...but the bottom line is that his job performance thus far is abysmal. The guy is too sensitive and is cracking more and more, and may soon shatter. These shortcomings lead to frequent embarrassments and fling the door wide open for a firing squad of deserved mockery and ridicule.

With that said...I also feel that Spicer would be doing much better (although he still wouldn't be good) if his boss and some other parts of the administration were at least halfway competent. Thus while this specific Hitler blunder is 100% on Spicer himself...the buck stops with DJT.

Some of Spicey's blunders and acts of foolishness have been very entertaining, though. For that reason alone, I kinda prefer that he sticks around.

I was referring to the board and "outrage" but I'll play along: so? He sucks hind tit and that's not even up for debate, #realtalk. Hasn't he pretty well earned a good ole fashioned firing for being a complete boob(more than once)on the world-damn-stage?

Uhhh, I don't think you're supposed to say that in an interview.

Pelosi's job is to be harsh and call for people to resign - that's what the opposition does including the Republicans.

Spicer blundered which is pure comedy, but no he should not be fired for making a mistake and offending a ton of people. I mean, it's not like your job is PR related or anything. I mean, Press Secretary doesn't mean you should be good with not becoming the center of controversy yourself.

But seriously, if you fire him, fire him for incompetence. The Hitler joke isn't anything but incompetence. As far as I am concerned (and many others like me) he should not get fired for a gaffe.

Something totally ruined by our new media age is in the interview. The interviewer doesn't really pay attention they are just going through their questions.

Spicer tells you trump is trying to "destabilize the region" and you don't pursue that?

While I actually don't want Spicer fired (an incompetent press guy for this administration just seems the right fit), I do think people are being too kind to the guy who is primarily the lead PR guy for the President (and by extension, the United States) who should at least know the basics of what you can and cannot say to the press. If he made a mistake such as mispronouncing a country or leader, or by confusing a country's capital, etc... those would be mistakes.

But the mistakes he has made go way beyond "human mistakes". His are the "OMG did he just say what I think I heard" mistakes. Worse, he has been purposely confrontational with his audience. Again, a major fail considering the core nature of his job. Sure, people on political discussion boards like this will criticize him and even call for his head. Sure, party leadership will do the same. But the Anne Frank Center?

Taking a big leap there, expecting Trump to hire competent people.

    Heh... yea, my bad.

One thing Spicer did do right was to fall on his sword, and take personal responsibility, by saying he failed the President (and by extension, the people of the United States). People in general are much more forgiving when you personally take blame in an apologetic way. Much better approach than to defend or deflect. An approach that the folks from United should have taken and then took too late).

Come on man, you know he wasn't making a joke. He failed miserably while trying to make a point. He wasn't joking. Stop trying to create fake news.
