So why wasn't Nuk the target they locked onto then? He's the #1 WR and in past years that's what bad QB's have done with Andre Johnson. They would force the ball to him tons of times because they "can't make throws". Why would the QB target the TE's over what is supposed to be an elite WR if not because he wasn't getting open and the TE's were? That narrative simply doesn't make sense.
What could we get for Johnathon Joseph in terms of highest picks? Would we be able to get a higher pick if packaged with one of our 4th rd picks?
Not now. Too many quality CBs in the draft. Apparently the Patriots were willing to get him last season for Jamie Collins.
Yes Nuk is the #1 receiver on the team and qbs in past years have had success getting him the ball. And I'm sure the plan wasn't to weed Hopkins out of the offense after a career year. So maybe he's not throwing to Hopkins because those aren't the "plays he likes" like Obrien told us. In other words maybe he didn't know the offense well enough and couldn't get Hop the ball where he needed it. Which of course led to dumbing down the offense and getting the ball to players running simpler routes and that D doesn't necessarily gameplan for(Fedorowicz)
Well you saw how far plays Brock likes got us and he still couldn't even execute those correctly. You do realize he's off the team for a reason right. And nuks still here.......
He wasn't the only QB last season either and still the TE's were targeted more. I mean, the WR's just weren't getting open....or when they were they weren't catching the ball reliably. You could always count on Fuller to get open over the top, but you aren't helping anything by bouncing passes off of his baby hands over and over again. We'll see how things go this season, but out of all the problems the team has, TE just isn't one of them really.
McShay's 3 round mock draft for each team http://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2017/i...ry-team-three-round-mock-draft-2017-nfl-draft
I would love those first two picks. They would address two big needs on the team. I wouldn't mind Dobbs. Everything I've read about him is that he's a very intelligent QB who just needs some more work on his passing. Obviously would be a very risky pick. I would definitely love a guy like Webb or Peterman in the 2nd round though.
Here as in you would love him going to the Seahawks? Or you would love the Texans getting him in round 1?
Got it. Yeah I'm with you on that. I think he's a guy that could wind up being the surprise QB of the draft a couple of years down the road.
