https://thepointsguy.com/2017/04/i-got-the-united-situation-wrong/ According to this article, United violate the contract for the ticket. I'll admit that there's some ambiguity in the law that has legal experts debating, but the overwhelming majority still feels United was in the wrong. I'm still not sure how his criminal past justified his removal from the plane.
explain the law protecting United here? As I understand it wasn't an overbooked flight and a fully booked flight and United wanted 4 seats for their employees which isn't in their right to kick out paying customers to accommodate their employees. The law only applies when the flight is overbooked and some paying customers would have to wait for the next plane
The original flight was scheduled to get in around 7:30 PM. It got in around 10:00 PM. Flight crew could have made it earlier than 10:00 PM providing traffic, etc. was normal.
So by most peoples take, a person on a no fly list, lets say an isis wannabe, gets a seat. He cannot be removed from said seat because he paid for the ticket and has already sat down? So even if homeland makes the call to remove him they cant because you say they cant. You can be removed for any reason from a flight ... just comply and be done with it. No need for drama.
United Airlines Stock Drops $1.4 Billion After Passenger-Removal Controversy http://fortune.com/2017/04/11/united-airlines-stock-drop/
What makes him an entitled prick is him thinking that he doesn't have to comply with the orders of flight staff and that of the police. He can be upset about getting kicked off the plane all he likes and even file complaints or lawsuits about it, but he doesn't have the right to not comply. The fact that a grown man has to be literally dragged off of a plane is pathetic and he should be ashamed of himself.
I work in the aviation industry. I'm not sure what "law" you're referring to. UA did not follow correct protocol for irregular operations and involuntary removal of a passenger. You can't win this argument. United screwed up.
OK...flight got in around 10:00 PM - originally scheduled to get in around 7:30 PM. They could have driven in and arrived earlier than 10:00 PM (assuming normal driving conditions). Does that mean (since they arrived around 10:00 PM) they were unable to work the morning flight?
Question the policy all you like, but you still have to comply and get off the plane. The way the system works is you comply, then file a complaint or a lawsuit after the fact if you feel you were treated unfairly, you don't act like a child throwing a temper tantrum in a grocery store that has to be dragged out by your parents.
He will get millions for this, so he is being well rewarded, and you you can expect people to follow his example in the future.
That is easy to say, but at a certain point that becomes unrealistic. We need a law that stops this kind of stuff from happening in the first place, not higher bids.
I know it's the NYPost but sounds like the guy has a checkered past... http://nypost.com/2017/04/11/doctor-dragged-off-flight-convicted-of-trading-drugs-for-sex/
He was dragged out because he was literally knocked unconscious from having his head slammed on an armrest. I can tell you're just trying to be consistent with your rhetoric against black people not obeying police orders and being killed (and I agree with you in some of those cases), but this was pretty clear cut cruel and excessive, no matter the man's behavior. I also haven't seen any eye witness accounts of him being belligerent. It does seem like he has a troubling past but that is irrelevant in this case.
Probably, that's how pathetic the world is these days. Being a total POS in public can get you millions....and we wonder why so many people are so awful these days Like I said before, it's not about being belligerent, it's about being insubordinate. When you are essentially trespassing you have 2 options, leave on your own or be forcibly removed. The moron picked forcibly removed and unfortunately he'll probably profit from the decision to be a bad person when in reality he was clearly someone that needed their ass kicked.
